• Use "Chivalry", "Stardust Dragon", "Majesty's Fiend" or "Armades, Keeper of Boundaries" to counter or avoid this card's effect.

• "Vampire Hunter", "Consecrated Light", "Core Blaster", "Chaos Trap Hole" and "Karakuri Spider" can handle any DARK monsters that "Catastor" can't deal with.

Countering

• "Fire King High Avatar Garunix" can easily destroy this card, as this card's effect would destroy "Garunix" with an effect, thus destroying this card when "Garunix" is Special Summoned during the next Standby Phase.
