- This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Last Will", "Witch of the Black Forest", "One for One", and "Giant Rat".
- Use "Kishido Spirit", "Heart of Clear Water", "Chorus of Sanctuary", "Safe Zone" or an ATK increase card such as "Rush Recklessly" to make "Cat's Ear Tribe" unable to be destroyed in battle, except by monsters who have their ATK increased.
- Combine this with "Raregold Armor" to protect all your monsters or "Staunch Defender" to destroy your opponents Attack Position monsters, if you've used an ATK increase card or "Heart of Clear Water".
- Use Burden of the Mighty to counter monsters that gain ATK during the damage step e.g. Jain, Lightsworn Paladin and Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger.
- Combine this with "Raregold Armor" to protect all your monsters or "Staunch Defender" to destroy your opponents Attack Position monsters, if you've used an ATK increase card or "Heart of Clear Water".
- Use Mist Body, Waboku, Shield Warrior, or Guard Hedge and Battle Mania for best results.
- Equip a card which boosts ATK to allow this monster to destroy any monsters which don't also have an increased ATK.
- One of the best examples is "Horn of the Phantom Beast". This guarantees that "Cat's Ear Tribe" destroys the monster by battle AND you get to draw a card every time it happens.
