- "Treeborn Frog" or "Mausoleum of the Emperor can be used to Tribute Summon this card each turn.
- "Call of the Mummy" can help provide a constant flow of monsters to tribute for Dark Dust Spirit. Dark Dust Spirit is also a zombie, and Call is a common staple in Zombie decks, thus they are a good combo together.
- You can use "Dark Dust Spirit" to destroy your "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" and get its effect next turn.
- Use this with "Dimensional Fissure" , "Royal Decree" , and "D.D. Survivor". You will always have a needed tribute and your opponent will be unable to stop you when you go for a direct attack. If he sets a monster, use "Swords of Revealing Light".
- Activate "Light of Intervention" and play "Dimensional Fissure", tribute D.D. Scout Plane to Tribute Summon "Dark Dust Spirit". Destroy all other Face-up monsters using the effect of "Dark Dust Spirit" and attack your opponent directly with "Dark Dust Spirit". As this card returns to the Owner's Hand at the End Phase, "D.D.
