  • This card is based on the Tarot card, The Empress, the third of the Major Arcana cards.
    • This card's Japanese name, Tris, is from the French word for empress, impératrice.
  • The Shield that she is holding might be a reference to the heart-shaped stone on the Tarot card The Empress from the Rider-Waite tarot deck.
    • This could be proved by the orbs on Empress' shield, which also seem to form the Venus symbol, which is also depicted on that stone.
  • This card shares the same ATK and DEF as "Dark Magician Girl."
    • Both cards also share an effect to increase their ATK in increments of 300.
  • This card acts as a counterpart to "Hierophant of Prophecy," as this card destroys monsters while the Hierophant destroys Spell/Trap Cards.
  • This card's sceptor bears a resemblance to the Emperor's Key.
    • Both this card, "Emperor of Prophecy" and "Hierophant of Prophecy" appear to possess items that resemble the Emperor's Key.
      • If you noticed, these 3 cards look to be in a same "room". Both "Empress" and "Emperor" throne are facing each other, while "Hierophant's" throne is in between.
  • This card is similar to "Tiras, Keeper of Genesis". When this card is the only Xyz Monster you control and has all of its Xyz Material attached, it has the same ATK and DEF as "Tiras, Keeper of Genesis". In addition, both Tiras and this card are Rank 5 and have a LIGHT attribute.
  • This card's Ingition effect bears some similarities to the first effect of "Shooting Star Dragon"; both cards activate their effects based on a number of copies of a certain kind of card in the top 5 cards of their player's deck. "Empress" can destroy cards, and uses "Spellbook" Spell Cards, while "Shooting Star Dragon" can attack multiple times, and it uses Tuners.
