The card is named after the Judaic archangel, Raziel.
- According to legend, Raziel attempted to guide Adam and Eve back to the Garden of Eden, which is reflected in this card's effect of returning cards from the Graveyard and into the Deck.

This is the only "Timelord" monster to feature a body part that is not entirely made of metal, namely, the fire in its shoulders.
