- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! R Hero Jump Special, "Van'Dalgyon" was the rival card of "Tualatin".
- This card is similar to "Voltanis the Adjudicator". Both have 2800 ATK, both summon themselves when a Counter Trap is successfully activated (though Van'Dalgyon the Dark Dragon Lord's effect is only activated when Counter Trap Cards negate the activation of a card), and both perform an additional effect once summoned to the field in this way.
- This card may be an alternate version of Diabolos, King of the Abyss.
