The title "DDD" stands for Different Dimension Demon. Prepare to get a good taste of the power of kings who subjugate alternate planes.

— Declan on the DDD.

"DDD" (DDDディーディーディー DīDīDī) is an sub-archetype of the "DD" archetype used by Declan in the special Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V chapter and anime. The "DDD" monsters serve as the "bosses" of the "DD" due to most of their gameplay focusing on their summoning.

Design

So far, every "DDD" monster has been named after a historical military leader, except "DDD Hell Armageddon the Cruel End Overlord" and "DDD Abyss Ragnarok the Destruction Overlord" which are named after mythical final battles.

DDD Historical Leader/Battle
Abyss Ragnarok the Destruction Overlord Ragnarök
Alexander the Gale Overlord Alexander III of Macedon
Caesar the Wave Overlord Gaius Julius Caesar
Hell Armageddon the Cruel End Overlord Armageddon
Kaiser the Conqueror Kaiser
Leonidas the Rebellious Lord Leonidas of Sparta
Temujin the Blaze Overlord Temujin (Genghis Khan)

Etymology

According to Declan, "DDD" is short for "Different Dimension Demon"[1] (ディファレント・ディメンション・デーモン Difarento Dimenshon Dēmon).[2]
