Klaus explains the use of Dyne in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus.

Dyne is a mineral excavated in the mountain near Satisfaction Town. It can be used in the construction of Duel Runners.

The gangs known as the Malcolm Crew (a.k.a. "Malcolm Family") and the Radley Bunch (a.k.a. "Ramon Crew") fought each other in a Duel every day at sunset. The loser of each duel was then sent to the mines to dig up Dyne for the rest of their lives. Eventually, Yusei saved the day as usual, and set the victims free.
