:*Dark bribe is very helpful and is found in most anti meta decks at 3 now along with solemns. Helps to negate things like heavy storm to save your oppression. Also with 3 solemns and 3 dark bribe, you are likely to get one in you opening hand, while if you just had solemns you may not. Dark bribe also has a easier cost, can even use to stop destiny draw in dark armed deck (which dose a lot of good). On the flip side if you where to take out dark bribe I would probably suggest those, may a third Kycoo instead of rat. [[User:BioMasterZap|Bio]] 06:16, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Revision as of 06:16, 17 September 2008

After having my Dark Fusion deck totally thrashed by a Gadget Oppression deck, I've kind of been fascinated by the idea of having my own Gadget Oppression deck. However, I'm still not completely sure if I want to have that kind of a deck or a Counter Gadget deck because I've been hearing good things about that. I'd like to know your opinion on which kind of Gadget deck I should run. Here is an early build of a Gadget Oppression deck that I'm thinking about using:

Side Deck:

(13/15 total)

Again, I'd like to know your opinions on which type of Gadget deck I should run, and why you believe I should run that type. If you think that GO is the way to go, then what changes can I make to this deck to maximize my chances of winning? Thanks! Subcontinental86 00:58, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

I changed the traps around in the deck to include 3x Dark Bribe and 3x Solemn Judgment. Out of those 6 I only have 1 Solemn, but I may be able to get my hands on the other five soon. I took out the Limiter Removal because this deck isn't supposed to focus on going for an OTK. I am considering throwing in a 3rd set of each Gadget to make a Fifth Gadget Oppression deck, or maybe you can help me decide on which cards to take out so that I can run a 40 card deck. Thanks! Made Plenty of Changes

I took out a few things that didn't quite make much sense in a Gadget Oppression deck (ex. Monster Reborn). I took out the Dark Bribes because I think Solemn Judgment will be enough at the moment. The Bribes were replaced with Mirror Force and Sakuretsu Armor. I would use Dimensional Prison instead, but that's a little hard to come by for me. Also I've been thinking about taking out Blue Thunder T-45 for D.D. Assailant since the tokens wouldn't get summoned with Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo on the field. I also replaced Heavy Storm with Giant Trunade seeing as how I'd be destroying my own Royal Oppressions with Heavy. The deck is still 42 cards, but I think that's a pretty good number. Please tell me what you think, and how I can improve it. Thanks! Subcontinental86 22:52, 18 August 2008 (UTC)

Changes

U can try replacing fosil dyna for d.d crow as ur oppression can most likely seal special summonings. The 2 sakuretsu can be replaced by 1 torrential and 1 more oppression. Moreover, I, being a GO user I prefer to add heavy storm than trunade as i have 3 copies of oppression thus i can sacrify but be warned although GO is good it is hard to win a tourney as GO lacks drawing powers. The 2 enemy controllers can be replaced by monster reborn and brain control as it is more practical. I will be watching tis page hope will try to help u as much as possible !!! • Hi, I am still kinda new to gadget decks too (made decklist but still missing few cards before I can test >.<). I kept it rather simple and did 14 monsters (3 of each gadget, 3 fossil dyna, grand mole, and snipe hunter), 14 spells (3 shrink, 2 book of moon, 2 avarice, 1 fissure, 1 hammer shot, 1 heavy storm, 1 limiter removal, 1 mst, 1 nobleman of crossout, 1 smashing) and 12 traps (3 bribe, 3 oppression, 3 solemn, 2 bottomless, 1 mirror force). I wanted it to be a very annoying deck so I did 3 bribe and 3 solemn =P was thinking of maybe adding 1 or 2 Giant Rats to deck, since oppression can’t negate in damage step and they can search fossil dyna, mole, or a gadget. I would suggest to try a 3rd oppression, the rest seems good. Bio 16:23, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Another Oppression it is

I'll put in another Royal Oppression since I am having a hard time with the Oppression part so far. I guess with three of those, I can certainly afford to use Heavy Storm instead of Giant Trunade. Bio, the fact that you have only 14 monsters seems is a little striking to me. How well does that work? I would imagine that it's pretty hard have a constant supply of monsters if you don't get a gadget on your first draw. Generally I'm not a huge fan of Pot of Avarice, but I'll test it out thoroughly before completely getting rid of the idea. I'll probably take out one Drillroid since he seems a bit too situational at the moment. Also, I'm going to on vacation for a week, so keep up the suggestions while I'm gone. Thanks! Subcontinental86 03:55, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I recommand burden of the mighty as it is quite gd wif all its decrease in att power for the opponent monsters. U can try replacing drillroid for exiled force or d.d assilant as they either commander higher att or is more pratical for destroying opponent monster. Furthermore, i think trapdust shoot and mind crush could be added to either side deck or to main deck.I think u can more or less focus more on ur side deck now as ur deck is near completed. User: Crystal88884 06:50, 22 AUG 2008(UTC)

ur deck needs d.d crow to counter most metagamers. User: Crystal88884 01:04, 2 sept 2008(UTC)

Back from Vacation

Alright I made some changes to the deck:

I also added a Side Deck, but I still need to work on that. I'll try this build out and see how it works against my friends. Keep the comments/suggestions coming! Thanks! Sub 15:19, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Can repost ur new deck ? Tat will allow easier suggestion to be made.Crystal88884 12:47, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

  • The list was updated when I made my previous post. Sub 13:52, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Where are the d.d crows? Crystal88884 12:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
    • I didn't put my side deck in correctly when I updated last time. You'll see 2x D.D. Crow in the Side Deck. Sub 14:27, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Y did u remove ur vortex? I tink it is better than exiled forces as u r using a gadget deck and hav lots of sparable cards to discard while exiled can onli destroy 1 monster as compared to vortex. Furthermore , exiled nids to be summoned. Crystal88884 15:52, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

add 3 giant rats, 3 gaia power.Thedefender 18:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Alright I replaced Exiled Force with Don Zaloog, and put back in the second Lightning Vortex. I took out a Dark Bribe, but that's because I ended up not getting that third one. Giant Rat would be a bad idea because the point of this deck is to prevent ALL special summons. I would like to use Burden of the Mighty, but what should I take out to fit that in the deck? -- Sub 00:14, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Remove 2 book of moon to add don zalog or exiled forces or burden of mighty. Crystal88884 05:51, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Oh ya phoenix wing wind blast is a great card too. Crystal88884 05:52, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
  • U need torrential tribute and monster reborn and a brain control. Hammer shot can also be replaced with smashing ground. Crystal88884 14:09, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Sorry I never posted back sooner. I still never got around to testing gadget deck, but having 9 gadgets in a 40 card decks makes it so every 5 cards I would draw a gadget, so should have one on first turn. Also giant rat I was thinking of adding into my deck, since royal oppression cannot negate it since it summons during the damage step. It would be a easy way to pull out Dyna, a Gadget, and Grand Mole. Also wouldn’t Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer and Banisher of the Radiance kinda clash? Bio 19:23, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
  • I completely forgot that Oppression doesn't work for special summons during the damage step...so I guess I could use two Giant Rats. I probably will take out Banisher of the Radiance because he doesn't always work too well for myself. I'll go for the third set of gadgets, take out the Banishers and probably the Blue Thunders. I'll throw in a Pot of Avarice as well. I've managed to cut this deck down to 40 cards, so tell me what you think of it now. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to throw in the two Enemy Controllers I used to use in there to make it 42, but I'll test it out first. I could instead throw in the Don Zaloog and another Pot of Avarice. It seems as if I won't be able to grab the two Burden of the Mighty, so I'll have to take that out. Thanks for all the advice! Stay tuned for more... -- Sub 21:42, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Maybe add hyper hammer head as ur rats can search for it and it can help u to sent back opponent monsters. Maybe u r right tat banisher and kycoo contradicts but banishsher will sent all cards to grave and it counters most metagame decks like lightsworn and DAD. Lightsworn mill quite fast so i tink banisher of randiance is good at here though but against DAD kycoo will help more as one of its effect prevents cards in grave from being out of play.Crystal88884 08:11, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Btw I still dislike the idea of 3 sets of gadgets as u will surely have bad draws like 2-3 gadgets in the starting hand so i suggest 2 set will do .Crystal88884 08:35, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Hmm, Kycoo or Banisher is hard decision. Kycoo has higher attack, stop cards from being removed from play, and can remove cards from play when it dose damage. So it can stop DaD from using its effect and easily mess up its amount if they don’t get 3 in 1 turn. You can also remove lightsworn with different names from play, so can slow Judgment dragon a lot. Also to remove a GB would hurt a lot and Kycoo can deal with monarchs better (stops remove from play monarch and destroys treeborn frog). Banisher is weaker, but would stop all decks listed but remove from play monarch, which it may help lol. Banisher also stops you from using Avarice. So I would pick Kycoo for sure. You may want to replace 1 lightning with another card, hammer shot maybe? Also 3 Burden of the Mighty may work nicely. A third Dyna may help, not sure. Another card I have considered has been Mormolith, might work nice as a side deck card. Injection Fairy Lily would also be a lot of fun, low attack and earth. Probably getting off strategy a bit now... Oh well lol. Bio 12:24, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Ok, I have to agree with Crystal on the 3 sets of Gadgets. I proxied this deck last night, and found myself in a "Gadget Lock" with most of my starting hands. Three sets of Gadgets just aren't needed for this deck. Also, does Blue Thunder's effect take place during the damage step? If so, I think it would be best to take out a full set of Gadgets throw in two Blue Thunders and one Don Zaloog. Do you think two Burden of the Mighty is enough? I can go slightly over my budget and get three, but do you believe two would be enough? Also, with three Solemns in there I don't see myself using Injection Fairy Lily to her best ability. -- Sub 14:27, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • “"Blue Thunder T-45's" effect activates at the end of the Damage Step, when the monster destroyed by battle is sent to the Graveyard.” Guess not =P You could still add it if you wanted to, since if you had oppression on field you opponent would need to pay 800 life points each time it attempts to special summon. That cost builds up fast if you a card like Blue Thunder T-45, since it can summon a lot. As for gadgets, I don’t see how extra are ever a bad thing lol. You can them use for snipe hunter or such. I still haven’t got around to testing though, so I will take your word that it should be two sets. Also I am not sure about 2 or 3 burden, I would get three just so you have it if you need it (it isn’t that hard to get in trades even). Also solemns would make lily hard to use, but you could always throw in one for the chaos =P Chances are your opponent will solemn it on summon even, or use lily then solemn so you lose less sorta... Also if you used a 3rd Dark Bribe it would probably help. The Teleport Dark Armed’s Destiny Draw combo can be murder, so bribe is worth it. Combo is use Malicious for D. Draw, get 2 cards, spec sum Malicious, summon Krebons (normal or with teleport), synchro for a level 8. Can’t guarantee to have a Dyna or Oppression before they pull that off. Hope some of this helps. Bio 15:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Try adding a hyper hammerhead for ur rat to summon it out it can act as a grand mole though u still take dmg but u can return ur opponent strongest monster and the best thing is tat it cannot be negated by ur own oppression as summoning occurs at the dmg step.Crystal88884 12:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Giant Rat

I made a new section so it is easier to get to the bottom to see new replies =p Wouldn’t it be better to add a third rat and just search out grand mole then add a hyper hammerhead? Giant rat can be a very powerful card with this deck, and since gadgets’ effect still activate when they are special summoned they work with rat too. Also rat works with legendary jujitsu mater (Mentioned by super teddy) =P Bio 12:27, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

I think 2 rat and 1 hyper hammerhead is more than enough anyway, the rat will summon the monster out in attack mode but u can change it to defense later so maybe legendary jujusu master can be used but just limit it to 1-2. Crystal88884 07:07, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

  • Perhaps ur deck lacks torrential if u r getting owned then it will help monster reborn can do the trick if u nid firepower when royal oppression is not on field. Crystal88884 14:09, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
  • I ended up getting the third Dark Bribe, so I threw that in there. I took out a full set of Gadgets, threw in the Bribe and two Legendary Jujitsu Masters. I don't have a Hyper Hammerhead, and while he seems like a pretty good fake Mole I'd rather bust out mole with the Giant Rat. Torrential will probably be a side deck for now. -- Sub 14:30, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
  • Hammerhead is to fool ur opponent into attacking it then u can shrink it also can be a replacement for mole in case ur mole died.Crystal88884 14:41, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Dark Bribe is not neccesary in this deck, you already have 5 cards to destroy/negate spells and traps. So remove all 3 and add:
