What are the rules of "Superheavy Samurai" monsters battling in Defense Position. So like what happens when a defense monster attacks an attack position monster whose atk is equal to the def of the attacking monster? All possibilities please (low def->high atk, equal def->equal atk, high def->low atk,low def->high def, equal def->equal def, high def->low def) TheGameRogue (talk • contribs) 12:34, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
- To make it simpler, envision it is in Attack Position and its DEF is being used for its ATK value. That's it. --UltimateKuriboh (talk • contribs) 13:52, September 19, 2014 (UTC)
So if a Superheavy Samurai monster in Defence Position attacks a monster with atk equal to the attacking monsters def, then both monsters are destroyed? Even though the attacking monster is in defence mode TheGameRogue (talk • contribs) 12:38, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
- Nope, the Attack Position monster will die and yours won't because the only time both monsters die is if they're both in Attack Position.--MasterMarik (talk • contribs) 12:50, September 20, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, so just to make sure i understand, the rules go as follows*:
DEF lower -> ATK higher = difference as damage to attacking player, no monster is destroyed
DEF same -> ATK same = attack target is destroyed only and no damage
DEF higher -> ATK lower = difference as damage to attack target's player, attack target is destroyed
DEF lower -> DEF higher = difference as damage to attacking player, no monster is destroyed
DEF same -> DEF same = no monster is destroyed and no damage
DEF higher -> DEF lower = attack target is destroyed and no damage
- Assuming no stat changing cards/other effects are applied (except the ability to attack in defence mode)

- correct
- just pretend its in ATK mode and Shield And Sword was used on itDreadKaiser (talk • contribs) 03:32, September 21, 2014 (UTC)
- I was under the impression that due to the last OCG ruling of "Big Benkei", that for the purpose of the attacking Defense-position monster, just consider the monster as attack position for regarding itself being destroyed by battle. If this is right, that would change two parts of the above.
- Defense lower (like 2000 Def) attacking Attack Higher (2100 Attack), would result in 100 Battle damage to the attacking player and their monster destroyed.
- Defense equal (2000 Def) attacking Attack equal (2000 Attack) would result in both monsters being destroyed.
