(Billy Bob and Ted enter the stage as "Can you Feel the Power" plays)

Gong: All right, yeah! Gong Strong's here!

(Jack bumps into him as he gets on stage)

Jack: Step aside! (inaudible) The Top 16 of the 2023 North American World Championship Qualifier is about to begin, and I'm not about to miss it!

Gong: You want Gong... to move?

Jack: (scoffs) Are you Gong?

Gong: Yeah. Gong Strong, nice to meet you. And you are? (Holds out his hand for a handshake, but Jack does not move.)

Jack: Running out of patience. So move aside, and make it fast. (The music subsides.)

Gong: Sorry, but just like Gong's monsters in a Duel, Gong won't be moved! That's Gong's defensive Heavystrong Style of Dueling, that never steers Gong wrong! (points at someone in the audience) Thank you. Gong's monsters are immovable, and so. Is. Gong! Even when Action Cards are scattered everywhere, Gong won't move an inch to pick one up!

Jack: "Heavystrong Style of Dueling?" Is that some kind of joke? Duels are all about overpowering your opponent with the unstoppable force of a brutal offence! How will you win a Duel when you're always on the defensive?

Gong: How will you win a Duel without movin' my monsters off the field?

Jack: Ha! Nothing can stand up to my unstoppable force, not even an immovable object! And I will prove it to you in a Duel.

Gong: (chuckles) A Duel?

Jack: That's right. And I won't make you move either. We'll do it right here, in Raleigh, North Carolina, on stage at the North America WCQ.

Gong: Yeah? Well, sir, if you really wanna see Gong's Heavystrong Style o' Dueling, Gong won't turn you down.

Jack: And since I don't want to hold up the WCQ tournament, and keep all of the talented Duelists who made the top 16 waiting, I'll make it quick.

Gong: Heh heh... quick? You're already underestimating my defensive strategy.

Jack: I'm not. And I'll prove it to you. You won't get 5 turns in this Duel!

Gong: (chuckles) What are you, some kinda psychic? You can't predict that!

Jack: I can. Because if you can survive until your fifth turn, I will concede the Duel. I might even admit that there's some merit to your "Heavystrong Style" of defensive Dueling. I'm giving you the chance to defeat me, Jack Atlas, the Master of Faster, without even inflicting a single point of damage to my LP. What do you say?

Gong: Gong says: You're on!
+
Zigfried: (heavy German accent throughout) Everything is going exactly as I had envisioned. I made it to the Yu-Gi-Oh! North American World Championship Qualifier in Fort Worth, Texas—traveling in style, in my lavender jet, of course—and Seto Kaiba is nowhere in sight. Ha ha ha! This time, I am one step ahead. Everyone knows that North America's top duelists are gathered at this tournament, and by defeating the best one of them all, I will finally be able to restore the public's faith in the Schroeder Corporation. By wowing this weekend's spectators, I will make all of them forget about Kaiba Corp, and realize that the Schroeder Corporation is the number one gaming corporation in the world. Finally, I, Zigfried von Schroeder, will gain the respect I deserve as Schroeder Corporation's CEO! Now, I just need to find the best duelist here...

Jack: I'll even let you go first, so you can set up as many defenses as you'd like.
+
Magnum: Did somebody say 'best duelist here?' Look no further, you've found him! I'm the best at everything, especially dueling.

Gong: Gong appreciates it.
+
Zigfried: Hey, aren't you—?

Both: Let's Duel!
+
Magnum: That's right! I'm the world-famous actor Jean-Claude Magnum!

Gong Strong (Superheavy Samurai Deck vs. Jack Atlas (Red Dragon Archfiend Deck)
+
Zigfried: Actually, I was going to say 'aren't you the duelist who suffered an embarrassing defeat against Mai Valentine in Battle City?' I've heard stories, but I didn't think anyone was actually that terrible.

Turn 1: Gong's Turn
+
Magnum: Well, I've come a long way since Battle City, and I'm here this weekend to prove it. Duel me and see for yourself.
Gong: Alright... sorry, let me get through this... There is nothing more beautiful than a perfect defense in a Duel! Defending one's LP is the true essence of Dueling! Gong learned that in the Strong Dojo Gong trained in, and Gong thanks you for the opportunity to demonstrate what the Heavystrong Style of Dueling is all about. Gong sets a monster face-down and ends his turn!

(Cheers from the audience.)
+
Zigfried: (scoffs) I expect that a duel against you will be about as challenging as...getting dressed for the day. And far less time-consuming, too.

Gong: A sight of true Dueling beauty!
+
Magnum: Hey, not cool!

Turn 2: Jack's Turn
+
Zigfried: Nevertheless...I accept your challenge. Trouncing a world-famous actor will give Schroeder Corporation free publicity! That is simply too good to pass up. I'm sorry that you will pay the cost of that publicity with your humiliation.
Jack: WHAT?! That's your turn? Perhaps you should consider renaming your strategy to the "Light and Weak Style of Dueling!" It's my turn now. I draw! Dash to the field, "Red Sprinter!" Now I use my "Red Sprinter's" effect to Special Summon "Red Resonator" from my hand. That leaves me with one Tuner and one non-Tuner monster.

Gong: A Tuner and a non-Tuner? That must mean you're going for a Synchro Summon!
+
Magnum: Well, don't be so sure, Zigfried! When I defeat you in this Duel, the world will see that I'm more than just a pretty face. They'll see that I have a brilliant mind and dashing good looks.

Jack: That's quite astute of you, Gong. I see you're familiar with the strength of Synchro Summons. Perhaps you're not as hopeless as I initially thought. I tune my Level 4 "Red Sprinter" with my Level 2 "Red Resonator!" Come forth, my Level 6 "Red Rising Dragon!" Next, I activate my "Red Rising Dragon's" effect. When it's Synchro Summoned, I get to Special Summon a "Resonator" monster from my Graveyard. Return to the field, "Red Resonator!" This time, I'll use my "Red Resonator's" effect. Since I Special Summoned it, I gain Life Points equal to the ATK of a monster on the field, and I choose my "Red Rising Dragon!" "Red Rising Dragon" has 2100 ATK, which means I gain 2100 Life Points. (Jack's LP increase to 6100)
+
Zigfried: If you really had a brilliant mind, you wouldn't be foolish enough to engage me in a Duel.

Gong: (stutters) 2100?
+
Both: Let's Duel!

Jack: What do you care? A defensive Duelist like yourself would never touch my Life Points anyway. Next, I tune my Level 2 "Red Resonator" with my Level 6 "Red Rising Dragon." From the ancient chasms of a lost world, I awaken a great and terrible power! I Synchro Summon! Now rise, "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" (The crowd cheers.) Now, Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Gong's face-down monster!
+
Zigfried von Schroeder (Valkyrie Deck) vs. Jean-Claude Magnum (Ninja Deck)
Gong: (grunts) You attacked "Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer!" Haha, yeah! Now its effect activates! Since it was sent to Gong's Graveyard, Gong gets to add a "Superheavy Samurai" monster from his Deck to his hand, and Gong chooses "Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji!" Gong's monster was in Defense Mode, which means Gong doesn't lose any Life Points. How's that for defense, Jack?
+
Turn 1: Zigfried's Turn
Jack: It's true that you don't lose any Life Points, but look at your barren field! Not a single defense in sight. And certainly no prospect for mounting an offense. I set a card face-down and then end my turn.
+
Zigfried: I'll go first. But, before I get started... (snaps fingers; the Schroeder Corporation's emblem appears on the bottom-right corner of the screen, Zigfried's side)

Turn 3: Gong's Turn
+
Magnum: What did you just do!?
Gong: Gong's turn! Gong draws! Gong Special Summons "Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji!" As long as Gong has no Spell or Trap Cards in Gong's Graveyard, Gong can Special Summon this card from the hand, and since there are no Spell or Trap cards in Gong's deck, that's never gonna be a problem for Gong!

Jack: Hohoho... you must be kidding me! You put all of your monsters in Defense Mode, and don't use Spell or Trap Cards? Is this some kind of joke?
+
Zigfried: Just a little bit of...tinkering with the broadcast. I want to make sure that everyone in the world watching knows that I represent the greatest gaming company on earth. And now, everyone in the world will know that! My victory today will be a credit to Schroeder Corporation. Now, eh, where were we...ah, yes! I draw a card for my turn. You're in for quite a treat, because my "Valkyrie Dritte" is about to grace you with her presence. I summon her in Defense Mode!  If "Valkyrie Dritte" is summoned, I get to add one other "Valkyrie" card from my Deck to my hand. I think I'll take my favorite Valkyrie, "Valkyrie Zweite!" (adds "Valkyrie Zweite" to hand) Now that you've met the first of my Valkyries, it's time to introduce you to the three goddesses.

Gong: No jokes, Jack! Gong knows how to Duel, and Gong is about to teach you a thing or two. Gong Tributes "Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji" to to summon "Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei!"
+
Magnum: Wait, three goddesses!?

Jack: Hold on. Are you sure you know how to Duel? Your "Big Benkei" is a Level 8 monster. And that means you need to Tribute two monsters to summon it, but I only see one monster that was Tributed!
+
Zigfried: Don't get any ideas. They're all way out of your league. First, take a look at "Goddess Skuld's Oracle." (activates "Goddess Skuld's Oracle") When I activate "Goddess Skuld's Oracle," I get to add "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" from my Deck to my hand. Next, I activate "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" to add "Goddess Urd's Verdict" to my hand! (does so) Now, I complete my trifecta of divas by activating "Goddess Urd's Verdict!"

Gong: "Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji" counts as two monsters when it's Tributed for "Big Benkei!"
+
Magnum: (confused) What's the point?

Jack: Ah... well played. Do my eyes deceive me, or did you just summon a monster in Attack Position?
+
Zigfried: These three goddesses will weave your fate. Ladies! Show Herr Magnum what you can do! First, I use the effect of "Goddess Skuld's Oracle!" (Magnum hands Zigfried the top three cards of his Deck) Goddess Skuld, use your Scepter of Revelation to alter Herr Magnum's future, and rearrange the top three cards of his Deck! I'll put the second card on the top, the top card second, and leave the third card where it is. (Zigfried returns Magnum's cards to the top of his Deck) Next, I'll use "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" to alter the present! (holds a finger to his brow) I predict that the top card of your Deck...is a Spell Card! Go ahead, take a look.

Gong: Technically Gong did... but it's only staying there for a second! When "Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei" is summoned, Gong can switch it into Defense Mode! Next, Gong Special Summons "Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" Like "Superheavy Samurai Big Waraji," Gong can Special Summon "Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter from his hand as long as there are no Spell or Trap Cards in his Graveyard. And there's no way you're ready for what's next, Jack! This monster's gonna bring you some big league pain! Gong Synchro Summons his Level 10 "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!"
+
Magnum: (reveals the top card of his Deck: "Pot of Greed"; the audience cries out) Yep. It's a Spell Card!

Jack: An impressive Synchro Summon of a Level 10 monster. But your Warlord Susanowo only has 2400 ATK, and you summoned it in Defense Mode. It's no threat to me there.
+
Zigfried: What do you know? I was right!

Gong: That's where you're wrong, Jack! "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" can attack while in Defense Mode! And when it does, it doesn't use its ATK. It uses its DEF for the battle!
+
Magnum: Well, since you put it there, I'm really not that impressed.

Jack: No way!
+
Zigfried: Goddess Verdande uses her Scepter of Guidance to Set that Spell Card onto your Field, placing it into the here and now! Consider it a present.

Gong: Yeah! Gong says that's right, and "Warlord Susanowo" has 3800 DEF, which... uh, is higher than your monster's ATK! "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo," attack and destroy Jack's "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!"
+
Magnum: Uhh, thank you?

Jack: I activate my Trap Card, "Safe Zone!" This Continuous Trap Card protects my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" from destruction!
+
Zigfried: Don't get too attached to it. Mmm, it won't be there for long. Next, I tap into the power of Goddess Urd's Verdict to make your face-down card a spell of the past. (holds a finger to his brow) I'm going to 'guess' that your face-down card is..."Pot of Greed!" Well, look at that! (Magnum reveals his Set "Pot of Greed") I was right again! Now your "Pot of Greed" is banished by Goddess Urd's Verdict!

Gong: Well, Gong's monster may be the one in Defense Mode, but it looks like you're the one on the defensive! Even though your monster is protected by your Trap Card, you still take damage! And Gong counts, uhh... 800 points of it! (Jack's LP fall to 5300) What was that about not being able to damage your LP? If Gong isn't mistaken, you're the one who has taken damage so far in this Duel!
+
Magnum: Oh, no! If I had gotten the chance to activate it, "Pot of Greed" would have let me draw two cards!

Jack: Don't let one lucky attack get to your head. If you look at the scoreboard, I'm still 1300 LP ahead of you.
+
(audience cries out)

Gong: Well, okay, come on, Jack. Just admit defensive strategies are the best strategies! (the crowd cheers) Your "Safe Zone" is the only reason "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" is still on the field.
+
Zigfried: (dryly) Who doesn't know that? Not today, Herr Magnum! And that's not all my "Goddess Urd's Verdict" can do! While it's face-up on my Field, you can't target or destroy my "Valkyrie" monsters with card effects! Ha!

Jack: You think my "Safe Zone" is a defensive Trap Card? You're mistaken, Gong. "Safe Zone" is not a defensive card. The safe zone is the ultimate place from which to launch my attack!
+
Magnum: This isn't good.

Gong: Welll, well, well... Gong isn't done yet! Gong equips his "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" with the "Superheavy Samurai Soulbeads" in his hand before ending his turn!
+
Zigfried: It has only been one turn, and your fate is already sealed! I hope the cards in your hand are good because, for the rest of this Duel, my goddesses will get to decide which cards you can and can't draw from your Deck. Of course, all of the cards I draw in this Duel will be nothing short of fantastic. That's why I'm activating "Shard of Greed." Each turn, I get to add a Greed Counter to my "Shard of Greed," and when it has two Greed Counters, I get to trade it in to draw two cards. And since my Deck uses all of the best cards, I can assure you that they'll be extraordinary. With that, I end my turn. Viel glück [German for "Good luck"].

Turn 4: Jack's Turn
+
Turn 2: Magnum's Turn
Jack: I draw. I activate my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect! Once per turn, I can use its effect to destroy as many Special Summoned monsters on the field as possible, with fewer ATK than my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend," and inflict 500 points of damage to your LP for each monster destroyed! Since your "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" only has 2400 ATK, it's as good as gone.

Gong: Slow down, Master of Faster! Or have you forgotten about Gong's "Superheavy Samurai Soulbeads?" The first time a monster equipped with "Soulbeads" would be destroyed by a card effect, it's not destroyed. Gong's "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" is staying right... where... it... is!
+
Magnum: I draw.

Jack: I'm quite aware that your "Soulbeads" does, and plan to exploit the fact that it can only protect your monster once per turn. Watch! I discard "Mirror Resonator" from my hand to Special Summon "Bone Archfiend!"
+
Zigfried: Oh! I'm so sorry. That card you just drew... (cringing inhale) isn't a very good one.

Gong: "Bone Archfiend?" Gong has never seen that card before!
+
Magnum: Well, you're underestimating all of my cards, Zigfried. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to set the stage!

Jack: Oh, I see you've spotted the first of my new cards that have not yet been released to the general public. In exchange for allowing Konami to name the upcoming structure deck, Structure Deck: The Crimson King after yours truly, I received an advance copy. With the new cards from Structure Deck: The Crimson King in my deck, you don't stand a chance! Next, I'll use my "Bone Archfiend's" effect to send the Level 1 "Synkron Resonator" from my Deck to my Graveyard and modify my "Bone Archfiend's" Level. Now, I'll use the effect of the "Red Rising Dragon" in my Graveyard. By banishing it from the Duel, I get to Special Summon "Mirror Resonator" and "Synkron Resonator" back to my field. And I'm nowhere near done! I tune my Level 8 "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" with my Level 1 "Mirror Resonator" and Level 1 "Synkron Resonator!" Together, these monsters will call forth an absolute power destined to rule this Duel! Now I Synchro Summon! Bow down and tremble in terror before the Level 10 Synchro Monster, "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend!"
+
Zigfried: (scoffs) You sound ridiculous. This is a Duel, not a Hollywood movie!

Gong: Whoa, whoa, hey, hey, hey, hey- hang on, Jack! Y-You can't do that, okay? "Mirror Resonator" and "Synkron Resonator" are both Tuners.
+
Magnum: Well, just because we're Dueling doesn't mean I can't put on a show for these fine people. I'm an entertainer first and foremost!

Jack: So? Unlike most Synchro Monsters, "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" requires two Tuner monsters to be used in its Synchro Summon. So I not only can, but must use two Tuners in its Synchro Summon! Now I use my "Synkron Resonator's" effect. Since it was sent from my field to my Graveyard, I return "Red Resonator" from my Graveyard to my hand.
+
Zigfried: (pleadingly) Please, spare me this nonsense and carry on with the Duel!

Gong: That is very cool, but your monster's 3500 ATK are still lower than "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo's" 3800 DEF. You can't destroy it in battle!
+
Magnum: I activate my Field Spell Card, "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training!" My "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" has two effects that can each be used once per turn. First, if a "Ninja" monster is Summoned to my Field while my Hidden Village is face-up, I can target a "Ninja" monster or "Ninjitsu" card in my Graveyard and add it to my hand. Second, if a "Ninja" monster or "Ninjitsu Art" card I control would be destroyed by battle, or by card effect, I can banish a "Ninja" monster from my Graveyard to protect it.

Jack: You're right, that I can't destroy it in battle. But while your monster pointlessly sits on the field in Defense Mode, my "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" is ready to take action. "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend," reign in a new era of tyranny and activate your effect!
+
Zigfried: (sarcastically) Big deal!

Gong: Uhh... effect now? What?
+
Magnum: Next, since you control a monster and I don't, I'll Special Summon "Earth Armor Ninja" to my Field in Attack Mode! Then, I'll Normal Summon "Upstart Golden Ninja" in Defense Mode! And now I'll use my "Upstart Golden Ninja"'s special ability. I send my "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" to my Graveyard to Special Summon "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" from my Deck in Defense Mode! (the audience cheers) And nooow, my friend, I activate the effect of Hanzo! Since it was Special Summoned, I get to add a Ninja from my Deck to my hand. I’ll have "Yellow Ninja" climb into my hand!

Jack: My "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" destroys all other cards on the field. And since you already use the protection of your "Soulbeads," your monster is helpless!
+
Zigfried: That's a whole lot of nothing! Now you have two monsters in Defense Mode and one pathetic Ninja with 1600 Attack Points. Not one of them is a threat to my Valkyrie.

Gong: (stuttering) "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo!"
+
Magnum: Well, maybe not yet, but I'm not done. I'm using my two Defense Position Ninjas to perform a brand new advanced Summoning technique!

Jack: Perhaps you shouldn't have depended so heavily on one easily-defeated monster. The worst is yet to come, because my "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" can still attack. "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend," ruthlessly attack Gong's LP directly! (Gong's LP fall to 500.) Impossible! That blast should have knocked you right off the stage, but you didn't move an inch!
+
Zigfried: (gasps)

Gong: That's Gong's Heavystrong Style! Woo! (The audience cheers.) Gong has gone through extensive training. Nothing moves Gong, or Gong's monsters.
+
Magnum: I send "Upstart Golden Ninja" and "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" to the Graveyard to Link Summon the mighty "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo!"

Jack: Uh, you might want to reconsider that statement. It looks like your "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" was moved right into the Graveyard.
+
(audience cheers)

Gong: You're right, but Gong still has 500 LP left. Even when you're backed up against the edge of a cliff, there's still a chance at victory! All Gong has to do is hold on for a little while longer. If Gong can survive just two more of your Battle Phases, Gong will win this Duel!
+
Zigfried: Link Summon!?

Jack: Easier said than done. I set a card face-down and end my turn.
+
Magnum: By sending the appropriate Link Materials to the Graveyard, I can Link Summon a monster from my Extra Deck. Since "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo" is a Link 2 monster that can use any two "Ninja" monsters as Link Materials, my "Upstart Golden Ninja" and "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" were all that I needed to Summon it.

Turn 5: Gong's Turn
+
Zigfried: I can't believe a novice like you has already mastered the Link Summoning technique.
Gong: All right. Gong draws! You may be known for your riding skills, but Gong knows a thing or two about motorbikes as well!

(Large cheer from the audience.)
+
Magnum: I told you, Zigfried: I'm no novice. I've been Dueling for years. I stay on top of all of the latest Dueling strategies just like all my friends out here. It really helps me impress the ladies. In fact—

Gong: Gong discards "Superheavy Samurai Motorbike" to activate its effect! (More cheers as Gong imitates a revving motorcycle.) Since Gong has no Spell or Trap Cards in his Graveyard, this lets Gong add "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" to his hand! (Cheers erupt once more.) Gong now activates "Prodigy Wakaushi" in the Pendulum Zone!
+
Zigfried: Please! Continue with the Duel, I really don't want to hear about your personal life.

Jack: Pendulum Zone? You said you don't have any Spells in your deck!
+
Magnum: If you insist. Since I just Summoned "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo" to my Field, I'll use the effect of my "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" to add "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" from my Graveyard to my hand. And that's not all; now I can use the effect of my Saizo. Once per turn, Saizo lets me set a "Ninjitsu Art" Spell or Trap card directly from my Deck. I'll use it to Set "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation!" But there's more. Do you see those arrows on my "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo?"

Gong: Well, Gong doesn't consider "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" a Spell Card because it's only a Spell Card while it's in the Pendulum Zone. Everywhere else it's a monster, synergizing perfectly with the Superheavy Samurai and... Heavystrong Style! Y'all can say it next time with me! Next time. Next, Gong uses the effect of "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi," yeah-ha! Since there are no Spell or Trap Cards in Gong's Graveyard, Gong can play "Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei" in his other Pendulum Zone, and Special Summon "Wakaushi" to the field. Next, Gong uses "Monk Big Benkei's" Pendulum Effect to add "Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer" to his hand! Now that "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" is on the field, Gong can use its other effect. Since there are no Spells or Traps in Gong's Graveyard, Gong discards "Superheavy Samurai Magnet" from his hand to Special Summon "Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei" from his Deck! Next, Gong equips his "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" with the "Superheavy Samurai Soulpiercer" in his hand.
+
Zigfried: (condescendingly) Yeah, I'm not blind.

Jack: I'm not impressed. You made all of those plays and still don't have anything that can stand up to my "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend."
+
Magnum: Well, those are Link Arrows pointing to Monster Zones. Any monster that it points to cannot be targetted for an attack, and you can't target that monster with card effects! Since my Saizo is pointing to my "Earth Armor Ninja," my "Earth Armor Ninja" is protected by Saizo's effect. Now it's time for an action-packed Battle Phase! "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo," attack and destroy "Valkyrie Dritte!" (the attack succeeds)

Gong: Well, maybe this'll change your attitude. Gong tunes the level 4 "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" Tuner with the Level 8 "Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei" non-Tuner! Behold, a monster that is both steadfast and immovable! I Synchro Summon "Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo!"
+
Zigfried: (shocked) My Valkyrie!

Jack: 4000 DEF?
+
Magnum: Now, "Earth Armor Ninja," attack Zigfried directly! (the attack succeeds; Zigfried's Life Points drop to 2400) That ends my turn.

Gong: That's right! Which is more points than your "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" has. Since "Superheavy Samurai Prodigy Wakaushi" and "Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei" were both Pendulum Monsters, they'll go to Gong's Extra Deck instead of his Graveyard. Now, Gong will use the effect of his "Soulpiercer." Since it went to the Graveyard, Gong gets to add another "Superheavy Samurai Soulbeads" to his hand! Gong is sure you remember this card, ha! Gong equips his "Soulbeads" onto "Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo." Gong knows you like to destroy monsters with card effects, and Gong isn't gonna let that happen.
+
Turn 3: Zigfried's Turn
Jack: We'll see about that.
+
Zigfried: (pulling himself together) Well...I draw a card and add a Greed Counter to my "Shard of Greed." Now, I activate "Dark Hole" to destroy all monsters on the Field.

Gong: Next, Gong will summon "Superheavy Samurai Security!" Gong sure is glad he got his hands on this brand-new card comin' outta Duelist Nexus. Now Gong uses his "Security's" effect when it's summoned to add "Prodigy Wakaushi" back to the hand. Next, Gong Tributes his "Security" to Special Summon "Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei" from his Graveyard in Defense Mode! Y'all ready for this? Now Gong enters his Battle Phase!
+
Magnum: Not so fast! Have you forgotten about my Field Spell Card? I use the effect of my "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" to banish "Upstart Golden Ninja" from my Graveyard and protect all of my Ninjas. (does so; "Dark Hole" is negated and sent to the Graveyard)

Jack: Battle Phase? All your monsters are in Defense Mode!
+
Zigfried: (smugly) Of course I haven't forgotten. I have impeccable memory. That was all part of my plan. I activate "Monster Reborn" to Special Summon "Valkyrie Dritte" back from the Graveyard. (Special Summons "Valkyrie Dritte" in Defense Position) Now, "Valkyrie Dritte's" effect activates, allowing me to add "Valkyrie Erste" to my hand! Now, I Tribute "Valkyrie Dritte." Give a warm welcome to my Level 5 "Valkyrie Zweite!" (Tribute Summons "Valkyrie Zweite" in Attack Position) If "Valkyrie Zweite" is Summoned, she can destroy any monster on your Field. I'll use her effect to destroy your Link Monster! Auf wiedersehen [German for "Goodbye"], Saizo.

Gong: Well, whatever... true, but you remember how "Superheavy Samurai Warlord Susanowo" attacked while it was in Defense Mode? Well, so can "Big Benkei" and "Brave Masurawo," yessir. Plus, just like Gong's "Warlord Susanowo," both of these monsters use their DEF instead of their ATK for damage calculation! "Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo," use your 4000 DEF! Attack and destroy Jack's "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend!"
+
Magnum: Oh, no.

Jack: Oh no! My "Red Dragon Archfiend!" (Jack's LP fall to 4800.)
+
Zigfried: And next, I'll use the effects of my three goddesses. First, I'll rearrange the top three cards of your Deck with "Goddess Skuld's Oracle"! I'll put the second card on top, and leave the other cards where they are. Next, I'll use "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" to 'predict' (holds a finger to his brow) that the top card of your Deck is...a monster. (Magnum reveals the top card of his Deck: "Red Dragon Ninja") Since I'm right, it's Set to your Field! Now that your monster is face-down on the Field, I'm going to...'guess' that it is..."Red Dragon Ninja!" (Magnum reveals "Red Dragon Ninja") Ha ha ha ha! Look at that, I'm right again! I'm so smart. Now, "Red Dragon Ninja" is banished from the Duel!

Gong: Gong knows that he just needs to survive until his fifth turn in order to win this Duel, but... where's the honor in that? Dropping your LP to zero will prove once and for all that the best offense is a good defense! So Gong will keep battling! "Superheavy Samurai Big Benkei," attack Jack's LP directly!
+
Magnum: Well, I still have plenty of Ninjas left!

Jack: Not fast enough, Gong. I activate my Trap Card, "Escape from the Dark Dimension!" This Trap Card lets me Special Summon one of my banished DARK monsters back to the field, and I choose my "Red Rising Dragon!" I summon it in Attack Mode!
+
Zigfried: Ja [German for "yes"], but sadly? None of them are as good as my Valkyries. (Proceeds to Battle Phase) Valkyrie Zweite, attack and destroy Herr Magnum's Earth Armor Ninja.

Gong: Wait, wha- Attack Mode? Your "Red Rising Dragon" only has 2100 ATK. "Big Benkei's" DEF are, uh... 1400 points higher! You should've summoned it in Defense Mode!
+
Magnum: Not so fast! I activate my Trap Card, "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation." This card lets me Tribute my "Earth Armor Ninja" and Special Summon a Level 8 or lower Beast, Winged-Beast, or Insect-Type monster from my Deck or my hand. I Special Summon "Black Dragon Ninja," a Beast-Type monster, from my Deck. (Special Summons "Black Dragon Ninja" in Attack Position) Now, I use the effect of my "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" to add "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" from my Graveyard to my hand. My "Black Dragon Ninja" has way more Attack Points than your Valkyrie.

Jack: There's no need for me to hide in Defense Mode. That's what I've been telling you all along!
+
Zigfried: Well, that's why I'm going to call off my attack. I simply set one card face-down and end my turn. (sets Spell/Trap card)

Gong: Yeah, we'll see about that. Oh, and by the way, thanks for triggerin' the effect of my "Brave Masurawo!"
+
Turn 4: Magnum's Turn
Jack: What?!
+
Magnum: I draw. Since "Goddess Urd's Verdict" is on your Field, I can't target your Valkyrie with my "Black Dragon Ninja"'s effect, but that doesn't mean you're safe. I Summon "Yellow Ninja" in Attack Position! Now, I activate my Yellow Ninja's effect to Special Summon "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" from my hand! (Special Summons "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" in Attack Position) Since I Special Summoned Hanzo to my Field, I get to use its effect to add another "Ninja" monster from my Deck to my hand! I'll take another "Yellow Ninja." Next, I activate "Double Summon!" This Spell Card lets me Normal Summon again this turn. I'll Tribute my Hanzo to Summon the Level 5 "Blue Dragon Ninja." (Tribute Summons "Blue Dragon Ninja" in Attack Position) And since I just summoned a "Ninja" and Hanzo is in my Graveyard, I'll use the effect of my "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" to return Hanzo to my hand. (Proceeds to Battle Phase) It's over. "Blue Dragon Ninja," attack and destroy Zigfried's "Valkyrie Zweite!"

Gong: Oh... oopsies. Gong forgot to mention it. If you activate a Spell or Trap Card while "Brave Masurawo" is on the field, Gong gets to draw cards until he has 3 cards in his hand! Since Gong only has one card right now, Gong gets to draw two. Gong's attack continues against "Red Rising Dragon!" (Jack's LP fall to 3400.) "Red Rising Dragon" is destroyed!
+
Zigfried: Ah, ah, ah! I activate my Trap Card, "Negate Attack." (audience cheers) At the risk of sounding redundant, I must tell you that your monster's attack is negated.

Jack: Perhaps. But I've only begun mounting my offense!
+
Magnum: Fine. I attack with "Black Dragon Ninja" instead!

Gong: Your offense can't hold a candle to Gong's defense! Gong ends his turn.
+
Zigfried: Sorry, Herr Magnum, you can't. Perhaps I should have explained the effect of my "Negate Attack" Trap Card in more detail? My Trap Card also skips the current Phase and fast-forwards your turn straight to Main Phase 2! Is there anything else you would like to do this turn or can I go now?

Turn 6: Jack's Turn
+
Magnum: ...I Set a card face-down. (Sets Spell/Trap card)
Jack: I draw. I summon "Red Familiar!"

Gong: That doesn't look so familiar to Gong. Gong doesn't recognize it at all!
+
Zigfried: (smugly) Hmph!

Jack: Next, I activate my "Red Familiar's" effect. By Tributing it, I can Special Summon "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" back from my Graveyard, with its effects negated. Next, since there is a Level 5 or higher DARK monster on the field, I can Special Summon "Vision Resonator!" Now, I activate the effect of my "Red Rising Dragon." I banish it from my Graveyard to Special Summon "Synkron Resonator" and "Mirror Resonator" back to my field. Now it's time for another Synchro Summon! I combine the might of all four of my monsters!
+
Turn 5: Zigfried's Turn
Gong: But three of them are Tuners!
+
Zigfried: I draw.  Now I add a second Greed Counter to my "Shard of Greed." I think I've been toying with you long enough. It's finally time that I end this Duel.

Jack: That's right. Three Tuners is exactly what my mighty Synchro Monster needs! Take witness to a cosmic explosion of a magnitude never before seen! I Synchro Summon "Red Supernova Dragon!"
+
Magnum: No way! I still have 4000 Life Points left!

(The crowd cheers.)
+
Zigfried: Nn-ha-ha-ha! When has that ever stopped me? First, I send my "Shard of Greed" to the Graveyard to draw two cards. Next, I activate "Pot of Greed" to draw two more cards from my Deck! (audience cries out) Finally, I activate "Pot of Desires" to banish the top ten cards of my Deck face-down and draw an additional two cards. (audience cries out) Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Just what I wanted!

Gong: That thing's enormous!
+
Magnum: What are you going to do with all of those cards!?

Jack: My "Red Supernova Dragon" has 4000 ATK to start, then gains an additional 500 ATK for each Tuner in my Graveyard. Since I have three, "Red Supernova Dragon" has 5500 ATK.
+
Zigfried: Finish you off, of course. Ha! But first, let's give my three divine sisters a chance to flex their powers by activating their effects.

Gong: Gong knows that you also get to return a "Resonator" from your Graveyard to your hand with your "Psy-kron" Resonator's effect, just like you did earlier in the Duel.
+
Magnum: Oh, they're your sisters? The resemblance is uncanny.

Jack: I'm glad you've been paying attention, Gong.
+
Zigfried: (annoyed) You won't be joking after I've won this Duel.

Gong: Thank you.
+
Magnum: Oh, yes, I will.

Jack: While it's true that I could return a "Resonator" to my hand, I'll choose not to do so. I want my "Red Supernova Dragon" to have all of the ATK it can, and I'm not going to reduce its ATK by 500 by removing a "Resonator" from my Graveyard. I will, however, use the effect of my "Vision Resonator." Since it was sent to my Graveyard, its effect lets me add a Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand, that mentions "Red Dragon Archfiend," and I'll choose "Absolute Powerforce!" Now it's time to battle. Your "Superheavy Samurai Brave Masurawo" may have 4000 DEF, but its stats pale in comparison to those of my monster! "Red Supernova Dragon," blast Gong's "Brave Masurawo" into space!
+
(audience laughs; Zigfried takes a moment to shake off the remark)

Gong: Oh noooooo!
+
Zigfried: First! I'll rearrange the top three cards of your Deck with "Goddess Skuld's Oracle," and put the bottom card on top. Then I'll use "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" to 'predict' that that card on top...is a monster! Let's take a look, now, shall we? (Magnum reveals the top card of his Deck: "Armed Ninja"; Zigfried's voice grows smugger) Set it to your Field. (Magnum does so) I bet anything that your face-down card is... "Armed Ninja!" I'll use "Goddess Urd's Verdict" to find out for sure! (Magnum reveals his Set "Armed Ninja") Ha-ha! Since I'm right, it's banished from the Duel. Now, it's time to bid farewell to your pesky Field Spell Card. I don't want it to get in my way during my finishing moves. I activate "Cosmic Cyclone," and give up 1000 Life Points to banish your "Hidden Village of Ninjitsu Art Training" from the Duel! (Zigfried's Life Points drop to 1400; the Spell succeeds)

Jack: You don't lose any LP in that battle, but you only have 500 LP left. I won't take much for mesic to wipe them out on my next turn.
+
Magnum: Oh, no.

Turn 7: Gong's Turn
+
Zigfried: Since "Cosmic Cyclone" banishes a card instead of destroying it, your Hidden Village's effect is powerless to stop it. Now that that's out of the way, it's time for my goddesses to take their leave. I activate "Heavy Storm!" (audience cries out) This Spell Card destroys all Spell and Trap cards on the Field. And when your "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" is destroyed, so is the "Black Dragon Ninja" that it Summoned.
Gong: Gong draws!

Jack: Your move.
+
Magnum: Not so fast! I chain my face-down card, "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy!" I target my "Black Dragon Ninja," and while my "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" is on the Field, my "Ninja" can't be destroyed in battle.

Gong: In case Gong needs to remind you, this is Gong's fourth turn. Which means, all Gong needs to do is last through one more of your turns, he will win this Duel!
+
Zigfried: How pointless. Your "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" is just going to be destroyed by my "Heavy Storm."

Jack: No need to remind me. I stand by my word. If I can't defeat you on my next turn, I will concede this Duel. So, you better make this turn count!
+
Magnum: Not quite. I'm chaining the effect of my "Black Dragon Ninja." By sending one "Ninja" monster and one "Ninjitsu Art" card from my hand or face-up on my Field to the Graveyard, I can target a monster and banish it until my "Black Dragon Ninja" leaves the Field. I send my face-up "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" to the Graveyard along with the "Aqua Armor Ninja" in my hand to use my "Black Dragon Ninja"'s effect.

Gong: Gong starts out by activating the effect of "Superheavy Samurai Monk Big Benkei!" Gong adds "Superheavy Samurai Soulclaw" from his Deck to his hand! Next, Gong equips "Superheavy Heavy Soulclaw" to "Big Benkei!" Now, since there are no Spells or Traps in Gong's Graveyard, Gong Special Summons "Superheavy Samurai Trumpeter!" Gong uses his "Soulclaw's" effect! Gong Special Summons the equipped "Soulclaw" to his field! Gong sends his Level 2 "Trumpeter," his Level 2 "Soulclaw," and Level 8 "Big Benkei" to the Graveyard, for a Level 12 Synchro Summon! Choo-choo! Make way for the pain train!
+
Zigfried: (confused) But you still can't target my Valkyrie.

(Loud cheering erupts from the crowd)
+
Magnum: I'm not planning to target your Valkyrie, Zigfried. I target my very own "Black Dragon Ninja!" Now it's banished from the Duel. That means its fate is no longer linked to the "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" that Summoned it.

Gong: Choo-choo!
+
Zigfried: Clever play...but your fate is unchanged. All Spell and Trap cards on the Field are now destroyed by "Heavy Storm." ("Goddess Skuld's Oracle," "Goddess Verdande's Guidance," "Goddess Urd's Verdict," and "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard; Zigfried waves goodbye) Goodbye, ladies.

Jack: Choo-choo? Choo-choo?
+
Magnum: My "Black Dragon Ninja" returns to my Field by its own effect. ("Black Dragon Ninja" returns to the Field in Attack Position) Your three goddesses are gone, and my "Black Dragon Ninja" is still here. It looks like your "Heavy Storm" hurt you more than it hurt me.

Gong: Choo-choo! Gong Synchro Summons "Superheavy Samurai Steam... Train... King!"
+
Zigfried: It only looks that way to you because...you lack a basic understanding of this game. I equip my "Valkyrie Zweite" with "Silver Bow and Arrow!" This lovely accessory suits her perfectly. It also increases her Attack Points by 300. And now that your back row is out of my way, I Summon another "Valkyrie Dritte." (Normal Summons "Valkyrie Dritte" in Attack Position) I use her effect to add one "Valkyrie" card from my Deck to my hand. (adds "Ride of the Valkyries" from his Deck to his hand) Now, it's time for the moment everyone has been waiting for. I activate "Ride of the Valkyries!" (audience cheers) The storm you just witnessed pales in comparison to the storm that this card will create! This card lets me Summon as many "Valkyrie" monsters as I want from my hand. Ride into battle, "Valkyrie Zweite," "Valkyrie Erste," and "Valkyrie Brunhilde!" (Special Summons all three in Attack Position) All of the "Valkyries" Special Summoned by my Spell Card return to my Deck during the End Phase of this turn. Since I Special Summoned three or more "Valkyries" from my hand, you can't inflict battle damage to my Life Points until the end of the next turn. Not that any of that matters. Now, the effect of my newly Summoned "Valkyrie Zweite" activates, destroying your "Black Dragon Ninja!" (the effect succeeds) Ha-ha! Now...you have two monsters remaining, and my Valkyrie Brunhilde gains 500 ATK for each of them, for a total of 2800 Attack Points! Next, I banish "Ride of the Valkyries" from my Graveyard to add "Mischief of the Time Goddess" from my Deck to my hand. (audience cheers) Now, it's time for my Valkyries to ride into battle! "Valkyrie Brunhilde," attack and destroy "Blue Dragon Ninja!"

Jack: Impressive. But it's still no match for my "Red Supernova Dragon!"
+
Magnum: Oh, no! (the attack succeeds; Magnum's Life Points drop to 3300)

Gong: Gong isn't finished. Gong equips his "Steam Train King" with "Superheavy Samurai Soulbang Cannon" to increase its DEF to 5800! Just like so many of my "Superheavy Samurai" monsters, "Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King" can attack while it's in Defense Mode, and uses its DEF instead of its ATK in damage calculation. Since your "Red-Dragon-Supernova-Dragon-Dragon" has only 5500 ATK, it's time to attack! "Superheavy Samurai Steam Train King," take down Jack's monster!
+
Zigfried: Now, "Valkyrie Zweite," attack and destroy "Yellow Ninja!"

Jack: I activate my "Red Supernova Dragon's" effect! Since your monster declared an attack, my "Red Supernova Dragon" banishes itself along with all your cards on your field. Then, in my next End Phase, "Red Supernova Dragon" returns to the field.
+
Magnum: Since both of our monsters have 1900 ATK, they're both destroyed! (the attack succeeds; "Yellow Ninja," "Valkyrie Zweite," and "Silver Bow and Arrow" are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard)

Gong: Haha, alright! Your "Red Supernova Dragon" is as good as gone forever! Since it won't return to the field until your next End Phase, you won't have an opportunity to attack with it before Gong's fifth turn! At that point, I'll have already won. Plus, since you used all your best cards to bring that thing out, you can't have much more gas left in the tank! Just to be safe, never hurts to fortify one's defenses! Gong Normal Summons "Superheavy Samurai Scales!" "Scales'" effect Special Summons a Level 4 or lower "Superheavy Samurai" monster from the Graveyard. Gong will use it to allow "Superheavy Samurai Motorbike" to ride back onto the field! (The crowd cheers as Gong imitates a revving motorcycle.) Next, Gong activates "Motorbike's" effect. This increases the Level of "Superheavy Samurai Scales" from 4 to 6! You know what's comin' next, Jack. Gong Synchro Summons a monster that will- that moves faster than the wind, and jumps higher than any creature known to man! Defend my LP, "Superheavy Samurai Ninja Sarutobi!" This is your last chance to defeat me, Jack. I end my turn.
+
Zigfried: (smugly) Fortunately, I have a spare. "Valkyrie Zweite," attack Herr Magnum's Life Points directly! (the attack succeeds; Magnum's Life Points drop to 1700) Now, "Valkyrie Dritte," direct attack! "Valkyrie Dritte" gains 200 Attack Points for each of your banished monsters. Since you have three banished monsters, "Valkyrie Dritte" has 1600 Attack Points! (the attack succeeds; Magnum's Life Points drop to 100) You have 100 Life Points left! And I still have one more monster with which to attack. "Valkyrie Erste"...attack directly, and end this Duel!

Turn 8: Jack's Turn
+
Magnum: This Duel isn't over yet! I activate the effect of my "Aqua Armor Ninja" in my Graveyard! Since there's another "Ninja" in my Graveyard, I can banish "Aqua Armor Ninja" from my Graveyard to negate your monster's direct attack. (the effect succeeds; "Valkyrie Erste"'s attack is negated) All of your monsters have attacked, and I survived the onslaught from all of them. That means your Battle Phase is over and your Valkyries return to your Deck. It's my turn, and my chance to turn this Duel around!
Jack: I draw. One last chance is all I need. I activate my Spell Card, "Return of the Dragon Lords!" This card lets me Special Summon a Level 7 or 8 Dragon from my Graveyard, and I choose my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!" In case you've forgotten, you only have 500 LP left. My "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend's" effect is able to destroy all Special Summoned monsters on the field with fewer ATK than it has, then inflict 500 points of damage to your LP for each. It seems like a happy coincidence that you have exactly one Special Summoned monster for my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" to destroy.

Gong: After all your talk about ATK and strong offense, you're gonna win this Duel with an effect that inflicts direct damage?
+
Zigfried: Nooo, thank you. I think I'd like to try again. I activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess!" Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Jack: Not a chance! I set out to show you that no defense can withstand the unstoppable force of my attacks, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. I attack your "Ninja Sarutobi" with my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend!"
+
Magnum: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on!

Gong: Gong cannot believe it! Your pride is your downfall, Jack! You just threw your victory away. "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" will destroy my "Ninja Sarutobi," but since it's in Defense Mode, I won't take any damage, and that's all... that... matters! This is your last turn before I win.
+
Zigfried: Hold on? But that would be a waste of my time and yours! No card or effect can be activated in response to this one, so contemplating card effects you'd like to use would be pointless wishful thinking. (the Spell succeeds)

Jack: Don't jump to conclusions, Gong. Just because you don't use Spell or Trap Cards, doesn't mean the rest of the world has left them behind. You've obviously forgotten about the Quick-Play Spell Card I added to my hand on the last turn: "Absolute Powerforce!"
+
Turn 7: Zigfried's Turn
Gong: Oh... oh no, Gong did forget! Wait a minute... Is your Absolute Power- If your "Absolute Powerforce" is so strong, why wouldn't you have used it in your last turn with your "Red Nova Dragon?"sic You must be bluffin'!
+
Zigfried: Now...my Valkyries...attack directly and end this Duel!

Jack: Unfortunately for you, I'm not. You see, Gong, "Absolute Powerforce" can only be used on a "Red Dragon Archfiend." That means I can use it with my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" since its name becomes "Red Dragon Archfiend" on the field, but I can't use it with my "Red Supernova Dragon." "Red Supernova Dragon" was just a decoy, summoned in order to force you to use everything you had to defend yourself against it. "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" is the true heart and soul of my deck, and is the unstoppable force behind it. Now my "Absolute Powerforce" Spell Card increases its ATK by 1000, stops you from activating cards and effects, and allows my monster to inflict piercing damage! (crowd oohs)
+
Magnum: Hey, what's going on!? You already attacked! And why didn't your Valkyries return to your Deck!? Hey, and where'd my turn go!?

Gong: Awww... pi-eircing damage? Aww, that means Gong loses LP from the attack even though "Ninja Sarutobi" is in Defense Mode!
+
Zigfried: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! "Mischief of the Time Goddess" skips all of the boring stuff, like...my End Phase, and your entire turn, and moves the Duel along to the Battle Phase of my very next turn. That means all four of the monsters on my Field haven't attacked yet, and still can!

Jack: Twice as many, as a matter of fact. Because "Absolute Powerforce" also doubles all battle damage that my "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" inflicts to your LP, and there's not a thing you can do about it!
+
Magnum: No way!

Gong: Oh no... Gong is done for!
+
Zigfried: (laughs) I was having so much fun in my last Battle Phase that I let you survive it so that I could do it again! Ha-ha-ha! And since you only have 100 Life Points left, and I still have four monsters that can attack, there's no way you're lasting through this Battle Phase! (audience cheers; Zigfried sighs in contentment) As I was saying, ride into battle, my Valkyries! Attack directly and end this Duel! (the attack succeeds; Magnum's Life Points drop to 0)

Jack: Brace yourself for a crushing defeat, Gong! "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend," attack "Ninja Sarutobi" and wipe out the rest of Gong's LP!
+
Magnum: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (sobs)

(Gong's LP fall to 0.)
+
Post-Duel Dialogue
Gong: Nooooooo!
+
Magnum: I can't believe I lost!

Post-Duel Dialogue
+
Zigfried: I can. I'm much more talented than you are. Today was a big success for the Schroeder Corporation. Our Duel was streamed across the entire world! Gaming enthusiasts everywhere witnessed my triumph and will have newfound respect for Schroeder Corporation and its contributions to the Dueling world, ha-ha!
Jack: It looks like might makes right after all. No defense can stand up to the absolute power of my attack, and I'm sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Gong: Well, Gong just needs to up his defenses even more! That was a close Duel, and if you hadn't drawn "Return of the Dragon Lords," Gong would have won it! Gong's Heavystrong Style of Dueling is constantly evolving, and Gong can't wait to take his Dueling defenses to new heights!
+
Magnum: (sincerely) I'm happy to help, Zigfried. That really was a fantastic Duel, and I'll bet my fans around the world were impressed with my skills, even though I lost.

Jack: I have to admit, Gong, your Heavystrong Style is unlike any I've ever seen. I can't help but respect the way you attack with your Defense Position monsters, and use your DEF to overpower and destroy monsters in battle.
+
Zigfried: (respectful with a hint of condescension) I have to admit: you weren't as terrible as I expected.

Gong: Well, thanks for that, Jack. Could it be that you finally realized that a defensive strategy is the best strategy?!
+
Magnum: Thanks...I think.

Jack: Not a chance. Dueling with power is the only way to Duel. There isn't a monster I can't blast away, and I've proven that today. I'll bet the top 16 of the North American WCQ is full of Duelists that know how to Duel with power, just like me, and I can't wait to watch them compete.

Voice Actors[edit]

Pre-Duel Dialogue[edit]

Magnum: Did somebody say 'best duelist here?' Look no further, you've found him! I'm the best at everything, especially dueling.

Zigfried: Hey, aren't you—?

Magnum: That's right! I'm the world-famous actor Jean-Claude Magnum!

Zigfried: Actually, I was going to say 'aren't you the duelist who suffered an embarrassing defeat against Mai Valentine in Battle City?' I've heard stories, but I didn't think anyone was actually that terrible.

Magnum: Well, I've come a long way since Battle City, and I'm here this weekend to prove it. Duel me and see for yourself.

Zigfried: (scoffs) I expect that a duel against you will be about as challenging as...getting dressed for the day. And far less time-consuming, too.

Magnum: Hey, not cool!

Zigfried: Nevertheless...I accept your challenge. Trouncing a world-famous actor will give Schroeder Corporation free publicity! That is simply too good to pass up. I'm sorry that you will pay the cost of that publicity with your humiliation.

Magnum: Well, don't be so sure, Zigfried! When I defeat you in this Duel, the world will see that I'm more than just a pretty face. They'll see that I have a brilliant mind and dashing good looks.

Zigfried: If you really had a brilliant mind, you wouldn't be foolish enough to engage me in a Duel.

Both: Let's Duel!

Zigfried von Schroeder (Valkyrie Deck) vs. Jean-Claude Magnum (Ninja Deck)[edit]

Turn 1: Zigfried's Turn[edit]

Zigfried: I'll go first. But, before I get started... (snaps fingers; the Schroeder Corporation's emblem appears on the bottom-right corner of the screen, Zigfried's side)

Magnum: What did you just do!?

Magnum: Wait, three goddesses!?

Zigfried: Don't get any ideas. They're all way out of your league. First, take a look at "Goddess Skuld's Oracle." (activates "Goddess Skuld's Oracle") When I activate "Goddess Skuld's Oracle," I get to add "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" from my Deck to my hand. Next, I activate "Goddess Verdande's Guidance" to add "Goddess Urd's Verdict" to my hand! (does so) Now, I complete my trifecta of divas by activating "Goddess Urd's Verdict!"

Magnum: (confused) What's the point?

Magnum: (reveals the top card of his Deck: "Pot of Greed"; the audience cries out) Yep. It's a Spell Card!

Zigfried: What do you know? I was right!

Magnum: Well, since you put it there, I'm really not that impressed.

Zigfried: Goddess Verdande uses her Scepter of Guidance to Set that Spell Card onto your Field, placing it into the here and now! Consider it a present.

Magnum: Uhh, thank you?

Zigfried: Don't get too attached to it. Mmm, it won't be there for long. Next, I tap into the power of Goddess Urd's Verdict to make your face-down card a spell of the past. (holds a finger to his brow) I'm going to 'guess' that your face-down card is..."Pot of Greed!" Well, look at that! (Magnum reveals his Set "Pot of Greed") I was right again! Now your "Pot of Greed" is banished by Goddess Urd's Verdict!

Magnum: Oh, no! If I had gotten the chance to activate it, "Pot of Greed" would have let me draw two cards!

(audience cries out)

Zigfried: (dryly) Who doesn't know that? Not today, Herr Magnum! And that's not all my "Goddess Urd's Verdict" can do! While it's face-up on my Field, you can't target or destroy my "Valkyrie" monsters with card effects! Ha!

Magnum: This isn't good.

Turn 2: Magnum's Turn[edit]

Magnum: I draw.

Zigfried: Oh! I'm so sorry. That card you just drew... (cringing inhale) isn't a very good one.

Magnum: Well, you're underestimating all of my cards, Zigfried. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to set the stage!

Zigfried: (scoffs) You sound ridiculous. This is a Duel, not a Hollywood movie!

Magnum: Well, just because we're Dueling doesn't mean I can't put on a show for these fine people. I'm an entertainer first and foremost!

Zigfried: (pleadingly) Please, spare me this nonsense and carry on with the Duel!

Zigfried: (sarcastically) Big deal!

Zigfried: That's a whole lot of nothing! Now you have two monsters in Defense Mode and one pathetic Ninja with 1600 Attack Points. Not one of them is a threat to my Valkyrie.

Magnum: Well, maybe not yet, but I'm not done. I'm using my two Defense Position Ninjas to perform a brand new advanced Summoning technique!

Zigfried: (gasps)

Magnum: I send "Upstart Golden Ninja" and "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" to the Graveyard to Link Summon the mighty "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo!"

(audience cheers)

Zigfried: Link Summon!?

Magnum: By sending the appropriate Link Materials to the Graveyard, I can Link Summon a monster from my Extra Deck. Since "Ninja Grandmaster Saizo" is a Link 2 monster that can use any two "Ninja" monsters as Link Materials, my "Upstart Golden Ninja" and "Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo" were all that I needed to Summon it.

Zigfried: I can't believe a novice like you has already mastered the Link Summoning technique.

Magnum: I told you, Zigfried: I'm no novice. I've been Dueling for years. I stay on top of all of the latest Dueling strategies just like all my friends out here. It really helps me impress the ladies. In fact—

Zigfried: Please! Continue with the Duel, I really don't want to hear about your personal life.

Zigfried: (condescendingly) Yeah, I'm not blind.

Zigfried: (shocked) My Valkyrie!

Magnum: Now, "Earth Armor Ninja," attack Zigfried directly! (the attack succeeds; Zigfried's Life Points drop to 2400) That ends my turn.

Turn 3: Zigfried's Turn[edit]

Zigfried: (pulling himself together) Well...I draw a card and add a Greed Counter to my "Shard of Greed." Now, I activate "Dark Hole" to destroy all monsters on the Field.

Magnum: Oh, no.

Magnum: Well, I still have plenty of Ninjas left!

Zigfried: Ja [German for "yes"], but sadly? None of them are as good as my Valkyries. (Proceeds to Battle Phase) Valkyrie Zweite, attack and destroy Herr Magnum's Earth Armor Ninja.

Zigfried: Well, that's why I'm going to call off my attack. I simply set one card face-down and end my turn. (sets Spell/Trap card)

Turn 4: Magnum's Turn[edit]

Zigfried: Ah, ah, ah! I activate my Trap Card, "Negate Attack." (audience cheers) At the risk of sounding redundant, I must tell you that your monster's attack is negated.

Magnum: Fine. I attack with "Black Dragon Ninja" instead!

Magnum: ...I Set a card face-down. (Sets Spell/Trap card)

Zigfried: (smugly) Hmph!

Turn 5: Zigfried's Turn[edit]

Zigfried: I draw. Now I add a second Greed Counter to my "Shard of Greed." I think I've been toying with you long enough. It's finally time that I end this Duel.

Magnum: No way! I still have 4000 Life Points left!

Magnum: What are you going to do with all of those cards!?

Zigfried: Finish you off, of course. Ha! But first, let's give my three divine sisters a chance to flex their powers by activating their effects.

Magnum: Oh, they're your sisters? The resemblance is uncanny.

Zigfried: (annoyed) You won't be joking after I've won this Duel.

Magnum: Oh, yes, I will.

(audience laughs; Zigfried takes a moment to shake off the remark)

Magnum: Oh, no.

Magnum: Not so fast! I chain my face-down card, "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy!" I target my "Black Dragon Ninja," and while my "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" is on the Field, my "Ninja" can't be destroyed in battle.

Zigfried: How pointless. Your "Ninjitsu Art of Decoy" is just going to be destroyed by my "Heavy Storm."

Zigfried: (confused) But you still can't target my Valkyrie.

Magnum: I'm not planning to target your Valkyrie, Zigfried. I target my very own "Black Dragon Ninja!" Now it's banished from the Duel. That means its fate is no longer linked to the "Ninjitsu Art of Transformation" that Summoned it.

Magnum: Oh, no! (the attack succeeds; Magnum's Life Points drop to 3300)

Zigfried: Now, "Valkyrie Zweite," attack and destroy "Yellow Ninja!"

Magnum: Since both of our monsters have 1900 ATK, they're both destroyed! (the attack succeeds; "Yellow Ninja," "Valkyrie Zweite," and "Silver Bow and Arrow" are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard)

Zigfried: Nooo, thank you. I think I'd like to try again. I activate "Mischief of the Time Goddess!" Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Magnum: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hold on!

Zigfried: Hold on? But that would be a waste of my time and yours! No card or effect can be activated in response to this one, so contemplating card effects you'd like to use would be pointless wishful thinking. (the Spell succeeds)

Turn 7: Zigfried's Turn[edit]

Zigfried: Now...my Valkyries...attack directly and end this Duel!

Magnum: Hey, what's going on!? You already attacked! And why didn't your Valkyries return to your Deck!? Hey, and where'd my turn go!?

Zigfried: Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! "Mischief of the Time Goddess" skips all of the boring stuff, like...my End Phase, and your entire turn, and moves the Duel along to the Battle Phase of my very next turn. That means all four of the monsters on my Field haven't attacked yet, and still can!

Magnum: No way!

Magnum: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! (sobs)

Post-Duel Dialogue[edit]

Magnum: I can't believe I lost!

Magnum: (sincerely) I'm happy to help, Zigfried. That really was a fantastic Duel, and I'll bet my fans around the world were impressed with my skills, even though I lost.

Zigfried: (respectful with a hint of condescension) I have to admit: you weren't as terrible as I expected.

Magnum: Thanks...I think.

Zigfried: Well, now that our Duel is finished, let's resume the 2018 North American World Championship Qualifier!

Notes[edit]
