The Signers (シグナー Shigunā) are the only group that can summon the legendary Crimson Dragon, the embodiment of the red star. There are five people in the world that have the dragon birthmarks and five dragons that fit into the legend. So far only four of them are known: Yusei Fudo, Jack Atlas, Akiza, and Luna. The severed arm of the fifth signer is in Rex Goodwin's possession.

According to the legend of the People of the Stars thus each birthmark represents a part of the Crimson Dragon these marks are actually broken pieces of the dragon itself. And this five broken parts, as explain by Yanagi Tenzen on episode 27 were engrave and sealed into 5 people called "Signer"'s.

Jack Atlas represents the wings, for Yusei's is the tail, and Luna's and Akiza's birthmarks represent each one of the dragon's claw. Another characteristic added to them is that because each one of the legendary Five Dragon's, since they belong to the new Synchro Monster's type introduced in the series, it appears they tend to use synchro type supporting cards thus at least 3 of them have so far.

A Signer's birthmark seems to glow when in proximity to a dueling one, even against their opposite rivals the Dark Signers, thus this has come to be more seen as the duel between the Dick and Yusei in which his Tail mark shined. However this new mysterious Signers are the opposite not only because of the birthmark, but because they use the new black framed Dark Synchro monsters.
