Card Rulings:Hydrogeddon
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Hydrogeddon" is a Trigger Effect.[1]
- This effect can optionally be activated at the end of the Damage Step in which "Hydrogeddon" destroyed an opponent's monster by battle and sent it to the Graveyard.[1]
- This effect does not target.[1]
- This effect cannot be activated if "Hydrogeddon" battles a monster with the same ATK and both monsters are destroyed.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - If this card battles a monster with equal ATK, and both are destroyed, you cannot Special Summon a "Hydrogeddon" from your Deck.
Mentions in Other Rulings
- Bonding - H2O: Tributing 2 "Hydrogeddon" and 1 "Oxygeddon" is a cost to activate "Bonding - H2O". You can Tribute face-down monsters for this cost.
- Water Dragon: When this card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, its Optional Trigger Effect activates. You must have at least 2 "Hydrogeddon" and 1 "Oxygeddon" in your Graveyard to target, otherwise the effect will not activate. If you have 3 correct targets, the opponent can chain "Disappear" to remove from play 1 of the monsters, but the other 2 will still be Special Summoned.
- Water Dragon: The effect of "Water Dragon" that activates when it is destroyed targets 2 "Hydrogeddon" and 1 "Oxygeddon" in the Graveyard.
