Q&A Rulings
- Q: During this turn, I Link Summoned ""Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" and used its effect to add "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" to my hand. If an "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" is already face-up on the field, can I activate the effect of that "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" that increases its own ATK this turn?
- A: The effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" prevents you from activating the effects of monsters with the same name as the Warrior monster added to your hand, including those already face-up on the field. Therefore, in this scenario, you cannot activate the effects of the "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" in your hand or the one on the field this turn.[1]
- Q: During this turn, I Link Summoned "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" and used its effect to add "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" to my hand. If an "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" is already face-up on the field, but the effect of "Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora" makes it unaffected by other card effects, can I activate the effect of that "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" that increases its own ATK this turn?
- A: The effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" that prevents you from activating the effects of monsters with the same name as the Warrior monster added to your hand is not treated as one that affects monsters. Therefore, in this scenario, you cannot activate the effect of "Elemental HERO Honest Neos" even if the effect of "Number 81: Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Super Dora" is applied.[2]
- Q: During this turn, I Link Summoned "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" and used its effect to add "Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster" to my hand. During the same turn, can I activate "Monster Reborn" and Special Summon a "Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster" from the GY?
- A: In this scenario, the effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" prevents you from Normal Summoning, Special Summoning, or activating the effects of "Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster" this turn. However, since "Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster" has an effect that treats it as "Buster Blader" while on the field or in the GY, you can Special Summon it from the GY with "Monster Reborn" during that turn. Furthermore, since it is treated as "Buster Blader" on the field, you can activate its other effects that turn normally.[3]
- Q: I activate the effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" that Special Summons a Warrior monster from my Deck, by sending 4 Equip Spell Cards with different names from my Deck to the GY. If my opponent chains the effect of "D.D. Crow" and banishes one of the sent Equip Spell Cards from the GY, how does the effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" resolve?
- A: Even if one of the Equip Spell Cards sent to your GY is no longer in the GY when resolving the effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights", the effect applies normally. (In this scenario, the effect was activated by sending 4 Equip Spell Cards from your Deck to the GY, so you Special Summon a Level 4 Warrior monster from your Deck.)[4]
- Q: I Link Summon "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights" and use its effect to add "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" from my Deck to my hand. During this turn, can I activate "NEX" and target another "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" that was already face-up on my field, to Special Summon "Neo-Spacian Marine Dolphin"?
- A: In this scenario, you cannot Normal or Special Summon any copies of "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" after adding one to your hand with the effect of "Isolde, Two Tales of the Noble Knights". "Neo-Spacian Marine Dolphin" is always treated as "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin", so you cannot Special Summon it this turn. Therefore, it is not possible to activate "NEX" this turn by targeting a "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin" that was already on your field.[5]
