Card Rulings talk:Peten the Dark Clown
Do you have to remove Peten the Dark Clown from play in order to special summon another? I have a friend(s) who move it into their deck and/or hand because of the wording in it's effect.

My opponnent attacks my Peten the Dark Clown with his Airknight Parshath, Mefist the Infernal General, Des Volstgalph, or any monster whose effect(s) activates when it destroys a monster. Peten is destroyed, but the effect of the opponent monster activates. Does this mean I'm not able to use Peten's effect ? Rayqui 14:31, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
- It's better to ask questions on the Forum, since more people visit there.
- Anonymous (if you're still here), he must be removed from play. He cannot be returned to the hand/Deck.
- Rayqui, in all those cases, the effect of "Peten the Dark Clown will activate.
- "Airknight Parshath"/"Mefist the Infernal General"/etc have their effects activate when Battle Damage is inflicted. The effect will resolve, and then at the end of the Damage Step, "Peten the Dark Clown" is sent to the Graveyard.
- The effects of "Des Volstgalph" and "Peten the Dark Clown" activate at the same time (at the end of the Damage Step, when "Peten the Dark Clown" is sent to the Graveyard). Their effects will form a chain, with "Des Volstgalph" (Turn Player's mandatory effect) being Chain Link 1 and "Peten the Dark Clown" (opponent's mandatory effect) being Chain Link 2.
