Card Trivia:Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8
- This is the cover card of Soul of the Duelist and is one of the cover cards of Expert Edition Volume 3/Dark Revelation Volume 3.
- This monster appears in the artworks of "Canopic Protector" and "Level Up!", which depicts the transformation of "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6" into this card.
- In Egyptian mythology, Horus was the god of the sky and the son of Osiris and Isis. The sun and moon were believed to be his eyes. He was sometimes known as Khemwar, meaning "the great black one".
- This is reflected in this monster's appearance similar to that of a black bird, specifically a falcon, which is depicted as Horus' head in Egyptian mythology; however, unlike its LV4 and LV6 forms which resembled birds, this card features a draconian appearance.
- "Dark Magical Circle", with an Eye of Wdjat in its center, often associated with Horus, appears in this card's artwork.
- Additionally, this monster bears a stunning resemblance to "The Winged Dragon Of Ra".
- This card has a Dark counterpart: "Dark Horus", as well as a retrained counterpart: "Horus the Black Flame Deity".
- This is one of the only two "LV" monsters to have a Dark counterpart, the other being "Armed Dragon LV7".
- "Horus" and "Allure Queen" are the only two LV series with specific support monster: "Horus' Servant" and "Queen's Bodyguard".
- "Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8", "The Creator", and "Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys" are possibly connected to each other:
- They are all representations of Egyptian deities.
- They all share similar designs.
- They were released as the cover cards for consecutive Series 3 sets: Soul of the Duelist, Rise of Destiny, and Flaming Eternity.
- They each have a support card first released in the same set as themselves, that have a humanoid design: "Horus' Servant", "The Creator Incarnate", and "Hand of Nephthys".
- They all have DARK counterparts.
