Forum:Amazoness Solidarity

Using the new amazoness support, I hope to build a relatively competitive Amazoness deck. I have several revisions:

This deck is basic solidarity beatdown. Freed for letting me summon each turn, Marauding captain and Queens selection for swarming, command knight and Blowpiper for dealing even more damage on my turns, and counter traps to help lock the opponent's options down. Amazoness Spellcaster and Amazoness Blowpiper combo incredibly well together as well.

This deck focuses entirely on the Amazonesses. Using their effects to support each other in the duel. Archers + Tiger forces them to attack a strong tiger and lose. Spellcaster + Blowpiper will allow me to attack over any monster and deal heavy damage, and Queen protects my Amazonesses so I can continue to build up my field each turn. Nagation for dealing with troublesome monsters and spells and traps.

This deck if focused on getting a strong field presence very early on in the game and then adding to it. Ideally, I should be able to inferno reckless summon all three of my Trainer, Swords Woman, or giant rat, then use Amazoness Village to replace those monsters with other ones as they get destroyed. While I cripple my opponent's monsters so my weaker ones can attack over them easily with Blowpiper and Spellcaster.

What do you all think? Any improvements I can make to any of these decks to make them work better, or go faster? I have noticed I have a serious lack of draw engines for these decks, any possibilities you can suggest? Or do you think they won't need one? Critique Appreciated, Thanks. I think you very much underestimate Amazoness Sage. I'd run 3 in all of these decks, as it's great spell and trap hate. I'd also use Dust Tornado for more anti-S/T stuff, s well as being able to use Queen's Selection on your own turn more reliably. Runer5h 01:22, May 10, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Thanks for the tips. You're right I am underestimating Amazoness Sage.. I'm thinking, what s/t cards would it destroy? If I summon it, it's likely to get Bottomless-ed, or Torrential-ed. If I attack with it, it will be targeted by Dimensional Prison, Sakurestu, Shrink, Book of Moon, or Mirror Forced, and be unable to complete it's effect. And any other problematic card would already be set for activation to save itself. They only thing I can see Her effect good for are continuous spells and traps..
And then what cards would I take out to add her in? I'm already lacking space for a lot of cards I'd like to have.
You make a good point about Dust Tornado though, I hadn't thought about using it to set Queen's Selection for use on my turn, thanks. Thorn of RosenYubel 13:06, May 10, 2010 (UTC)

Anyone else have some good advice for me? Thanks. Thorn of RosenYubel 01:39, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

Here's my idea about Amazoness Sage. Because, whenever it attacks, your opponent automatically loses a S/T, they may be forced to waste spells and traps on an otherwise fairly harmless monster, which they'd rather have saved for something bigger and worse. Like if you summon it, and if it's being buffed by, say, Village, and your opponent uses Bottomless, or Torrential. And you've cleared the way for something more powerful and deadly, like Paladin or Tiger or Trainer or Queen. Besides, thanks to Village, as soon as your opponent destroys it, you get a new monster. So, I'd run 2 in that "Amazoness Summmons" deck.
Also, depending on how quickly this deck can get monsters to the grave, you could use Pot of Avarice. Runer5h 22:59, May 11, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Ah, that makes a lot of sense now, thanks. And thanks for the idea for Pot of Avarice. Any more recommendations? Thorn of RosenYubel 23:06, May 11, 2010 (UTC)

Some copies of Bottomless Trap Hole. Your opponent will be hard-pressed to attack over your monsters this way. and will have a tough time of getting out ways to stop the Village. Also, a Terraforming would be useful. I hope that one of the TCG-exclusives in DREV is an Amazoness Field Searcher, but until then Terraforming will have to do. It's very important in this deck, allowing you to accumulate advantage on your opponent as they waste cards to get rid of your monsters. Runer5h 23:21, May 11, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Oooooh, looks good. I like the concept of swarming Amazonesses. Do you not like to use regular staples, though? Or do they just get in the way of this deck's particular style?--YamiWheeler 00:51, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

They get in the way of my style, and deck size recommendations. I can't have all the archetype support I want without having to sacrifice on staples/protection/negation or bring the deck up to 45+ cards. Alas, that the hardest part of deck-building for me, determining what should go out and what should go in. Thorn of RosenYubel 01:10, May 13, 2010 (UTC)

here's another Amazoness deck, this is a tribute to the old Amazonesses, not using any of coming new support. This deck and Amazoness Solidarity evolved together from the same base Amazoness deck I made.

Comments? Suggestions? Thorn of RosenYubel 16:26, May 13, 2010 (UTC) Bump Thorn of RosenYubel 19:09, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

I'm NOT liking Blowpiper. I know she works nicely with Spellcaster, but wouldn't you rather Creature Swap that instead? It also works with your Warrior Lady... Oh, and Obnoxious Celtic Guard is bugging the hell out of me (no pun intended).--Akiza Izayoi 02:05, May 15, 2010 (UTC)

Creature swap? Why? With Spellcaster I swap atk, then drop their already low atk even more with Blowpiper, then destroy them adding an extra 500 damage, and they're not left with a monster and I can continue to use Blowpiper. With an attack lock from Tiger or Marauding she's protected anyway. lol, whether it was intended or not, I found it funny. Obnoxious with Solidarity is invincible in battle, and it's a good def card if I'm lacking the attack lock. What would you suggest instead? Thorn of RosenYubel 02:18, May 15, 2010 (UTC)

Have you ever noticed that Blowpiper can ONLY be used during the Standby Phase? And I still recommend Creature Swap, it works with Warrior Lady nicely.--Akiza Izayoi 02:38, May 15, 2010 (UTC)

... Oh Snap. I've noticed it, but promptly forgot.. Looks like I'm going to have to alter my strategies. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Sigh, why do all my favorite cards have to suck? Blowpiper was my first Amazoness card.. Thorn of RosenYubel 01:03, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

Shrink shrink shrink. Solidarity works only to a limit. Shrinking is better, with the element of surprise. Shrink and get rid of his biggest creature, then swarm and mop up.

please sign your posts. Solidarity works great, even if there's only one. +800 on any average attack monster (1500) and you have a 2300 atk beatstick. Most monsters with higher atk then that have to be special summoned or set up before use. Shrink only works 3 times, and only if you have 3 of them in your deck, while Solidarity allows you to keep overwhelming your opponent until they can do something about it (spell/trap removal or summon a higher atk monster). And Shrink isn't much of a surprise if it's set, they'll be expecting something to deal with attacks and it's easily Bribe-able. Solidarity is more of a benefit. Shrink is good, but Solidarity is better, and stackable (+2400 atk FTW). Thorn of RosenYubel 21:57, May 16, 2010 (UTC)
