Forum:Artifact Durandal vs Droll & Lock Bird

I know Artifact Durandal is a new card from Primal Origin, but I have a question regarding it.

Artifact Durandal's second effect is sort of like a double-sided Disturbance Strategy (being speed spell 2 and all), and I am sure you guys know the Disturbance Strategy + Droll & Lock Bird combo (i.e. minus all cards in opponent's hand).

Judging from the wordings of Artifact Durandal, you can also use Durandal to perform the same combo in the place of Disturbance Strategy right?

After Droll & Lock Bird resolves, drawing eff cannot be activated.-- (talkcontribs) 01:20, December 18, 2013 (UTC)

For those random people that happen to come across this thread, this is how the combo works (if it actually works at all):

Wait for your opponent to activate an effect that adds card to hand. After it resolves:

C1. You activate the Artifact Durandal's second effect.

C2. You activate Droll & Lock Bird (Droll & Lock Bird doesn't have to be chain link 1; both Durandal AND Droll would be “responding to” the fact that a card was added to your opponent’s hand)

R2. Droll & Lock Bird resolves.

R1. Durandal resolves; both of you shuffle hands back to deck, but your opponent cannot draw back his/her cards.

This combo results in your opponent shuffling all his/her cards back to the deck without drawing.

This combo is not new however; the oldest form of this combo is achieved by using Disturbance Strategy, Protector of the Sanctuary, and Call of the Haunted. Nevertheless, the combo I suggested above is probably the easiest and most practical way yet (very practical indeed for decks that bring out rank 5 easily).

Thanks CrossXFate, glad i cam across this :) --slave(commandworks) 05:14, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
Droll & Lock Bird doesn't chain to an eff that add card to hand, it can only activate after that eff resolves.-- (talkcontribs) 05:17, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
(Stating for the record that CrossXFate changed his comment after Lê, aka Magicknight94, made his suggestion.) CrossXFate, you forget that the card(s) doesn't have to be added to your opponent's hand by their card effect in order to trigger Droll/Lock; it can be your card effect as well. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 05:54, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for that UltimateKuriboh. For those who want to make this combo a 3-card combo, cards like Dark Bribe and One Day of Peace can help. But anyway, for those who are wondering, here's a list of cards that you can play to trigger Droll/Lock: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Your_opponent_draws_cards --CrossXFate (talkcontribs) 06:32, December 18, 2013 (UTC)
