Case: My opponent controls a face-up White Dragon Ninja, and a face-down Bottomless Trap Hole, and I play Bait Doll, targeting the Bottomless Trap Hole. Does: 1: Bait Doll flip it face-up, and then negate it. It is not destroyed, but is sent to the graveyard by game mechanics. or 2: Bait Doll flip it face-up, it cannot be destroyed and so it cannot be negated, as the two effects must both happen or both not happen. I could be completely wrong, but I think it would be the first scenario - regardless of whether or not Bait Doll successfully destroys the card, it's technically been activated now so it has to resolve and then go to the graveyard. PHASE (talkcontribs) 19:49, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

The first one. Bait Doll's effect is negated, but BTH is send to Graveyard after it's activation. If it happened to be a continuous trap card, it would have stay on the field without having an effect. --Takame9 (talkcontribs) 20:20, August 31, 2012 (UTC)

I think I agreed with Takame - it's like you have "Royal Decree" face-up and your opponent played "Call of the Haunted" any time afterward, it just sit there, useless fodder for "Magic Planter" or something. --iFredCat 22:20, September 1, 2012 (UTC)
In this case, game mechanics destroy Bottomless Trap Hole. Bait Doll cannot destroy Bottomless Trap Hole because White Dragon Ninja prevents this. However, a Normal Trap Card cannot remain on the field after activation unless another effect states so (such as Kunai with Chain becoming an Equip Card), so game mechanics destroy Bottomless Trap Hole. If a Normal Trap Card would remain on the field meaninglessly without resolving it's effect, it's not destroyed. Game mechanics sends it to the Graveyard; it doesn't destroy it. MadRest 20:17, September 7, 2012 (UTC)
