first off, Wave Motion Cannon is not an Ignition effect. only monsters can have ignition effects

And by wording there is no problem........except that Barrel behind the door has no PSCT. From its rulings, its PSCT effect would probably be "When a CARD that would inflict damage is activated..."

So no, Ruling states (by name no less) that barrel cannot be used on Wave-motion cannon. even if Barrels text implies it should, its just out of date text

More importantly, What the hell are you talking about? Barrel did NOT get new errata

There is a difference between activating a CARD and activating a card EFFECT.

From what the rulings tell me, Barrel can only stop the first type, the CARD activating. Wave motion has already activated (probably 8 turns ago) and Barrel cannot respond to Effect activations.

In other words, it cannot respond to Ignition-like Effects. only effects that activate when the card itself is activated (That is to say, when the card is placed on the field)

That still-valid ruling spells this out and flat out states it doesn't work.

Still wonder what you are talking about with new Errata though. Barrel hasn't been printed since 2009.
