If a gladiator beast monster is attacked, and book of moon is chained to flip the attacking monster face down, the attacking monster is still seen to have declared an attack. But can you then 'tag out' the gladiator beast monster for another or not?? --90.194.164.90 14:21, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
- No. Cuz no monters have battled.--Supremdragonking 14:40, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
- For monsters to battle, they must perform Damage Calculation, which is when monsters would be destroyed by battle and when Battle Damage would be inflicted. If the attacking monster is flipped face-down, then it doesn't go through the Damage Step, so it doesn't go through Damage Calculation, so it doesn't battle.
- Also, face-down monsters do not have effects, unless specifically stated otherwise.
- Lastly, you don't "chain" to an attack. You "respond" to it.
