Forum:Can Defender The Magical Knight activate its effect after a counter has resolved.

my opponent controls a face up defender the magical knight with a spell counter on it and 3 face down cards in the spell/trap zone, so I synchro summoned black rose dragon and activate its effect to destroy all cards on the field, then my opponent activates my body as a shield, I then respond with dark bribe I had set to negate it. Can defender the magical knight activate its effect to prevent it self from being destroyed after the chain resolved, black rose dragon effect will be last so can the defender the magical knight remove the counter to save itself from being destroyed due to the destruction resulting from black rose dragon effect. My opponent says he can because defender the magical knight effect starts a new chain to save itself from black rose effect can this happen, I said no because it missed its timing to activate if so and a counter was also played in the chain and nun can activate after a counter except a counter but we had a big argument and I really need to know an answer who is right... Defender's protection effect doesn't start a chain. You just apply it when you're resolving the chain, and the counters are removed instead of the monster being destroyed. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 04:04, January 9, 2011 (UTC)

'coutus' isn't a term.... If you mean a 'Continuous' effect, yes. -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 22:56, January 11, 2011 (UTC)
