Forum:Can you guys please give your thoughts on my Lightsworn deck?

I'm not sure how generic a Lightsworn deck is, but I've made one online and I really enjoy using it. I'm not a very experienced duellist so even though I think my deck works pretty well. You guys might just find a straight flaw in it that I'm just not seeing, or may know of a card that I don't which might not be in my deck which would be foolish for me not to be using.

My cards are...

A total of 48 cards

Please let me know what you think or if there is anything I could do to improve it. Thank you :)

Uh, you need to format your deck. From what I can read though, honestly, the only traps a Lightsworn deck needs are 2x Beckoning Light. You don't need to run any other trap cards. They are a waste and get in the way of milling the deck. I'd say 25-28 monsters are probably good, then the 2 traps and 8-13 magic, with 3 of those being Solar Recharge. You should also have 2 Wulfs, 3 JDs, and due to the game in its corrent format, Celestia is obsolete.

Oh right well thank you. But I never really see the point in having a Beckoning Light unless I have I have a couple of duplicate lightsworn monsters in the graveyard, I could bring the duplicates to my hand and send ones with different names to the grave yard instead. Is that the whole point of using that card? Also I always find I draw my wulf's which put me at risk of having a dead hand if im drawing guardian of order and JD etc, and I find once I have wulf in my hand it is then very hard to send it to the grave, so I only risk using one. But why is Celestia Obsolete? do you mean it's forbidden? That ends my questions :) lol

Yes, but if you pull Foolish Burial early and have a Wulf in your deck, you just got yourself a free summon. And he is one of those cards you would use Beckoning Light for. As for BL, it is a card when you would have to determine what is the right time to use it.

Celestia requires tribute summoning, and in all honesty, this game is currently too fast for tributing. Everything revolves around special summoning, and having a card that tributes slows down your field.

Yeah the game does move too was for tributes sometimes because people just special summon monsters in the blink of an eye which is why I see why your saying that I should just make my deck able to special summon JD asap. I definitely agree with everything you've said to be honest so I will get to sorting this deck out. Thank you very much my friend :)

I put your deck into a template. You can always find a link to the template on this forum's main page, up where it tells you what this forum is about. Since you are running Lightrays, take a look at this deck, and see if it gives you some ideas: Lightray Lightsworn Deck Hope that helps.--75.161.177.226 (talk) 20:41, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Oh right well I will be doing that from now on then. Thank you very much. :P

Huh, intersting, and funny since my g/f just put a few Lightrays into her Lightsworn deck. She still uses Foolish and Wulf though, especially since she only has one Effect Veiler (the others we have are in my Samurai and Hieratic decks) in it.

I still say use Beckoning over Reincarnation though.
