Forum:Exiled force, lonefire + skill drain

Hello,

The rulings for Exiled Force say it can use effect while Skill Drain is on the field, as it tributes first

Does the same apply for Lonefire Blossom if it were summoned by Debris Dragon?

No. "Skill Drain" and "Debris Dragon" are totally different.
"Debris Dragon" will negate the effect of the monster as long as the effect activates on the field. The effect of "Lonefire Blossom" always activates on the field, so "Debris Dragon" will always negate it.
"Skill Drain" only negates the effect if the monster is face-up on the field when its effect resolves. If "Lonefire Blossom" is not face-up on the field - for example, it Tributes itself for its own effect - then "Skill Drain" will not negate it.

You CAN use Lonefire Blossom's effect, but only if you Tribute itself for the cost. The same goes for the Debris Dragon + Dandylion combo. When Dandylion is sent to the graveyard after being resurrected by Debris Dragon, you will get your two Tokens.--Akiza'sRose66 ~~"Chilling flames engulf this entire world, pitch-dark flower.... Lonefire Blossom's effect is an ignition effect that activates on the field. Thus it will be negated by Debris Dragon since he only cares if the effect is activated on the field regardless where the monster is when the effect resolves. Dandylion has a trigger effect that activates in the Graveyard, thus it will not be negated by Debris Dragon since it is not activated on the field. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 08:45, October 10, 2009 (UTC)
