Forum:Few questions

Hi! Two questions : 1) Magic Cylinder's effect targets whereas Necro Gardna's doesn't. Yet, these two effects are somewhat similar to me, knowing that they all affect the attacking monster. Can you explain, please?

2) Do these combos work? If you don't mind, justify your answer a) Splendid Venus + Royal Decree ==> My traps would still work b) Splendid Venus + Sky Scourge Invicil (summoned By tributing a light Fairy-monster) ==> my spells would still work.

Thanks in advance.

1) "Necro Gardna" automatically negates the next attack. There is no option, so it doesn't target.
For "Magic Cylinder", you must choose when to activate it. You must choose which attacking monster on which you are going to use the effect, so it targets.
2) Those will work.

Four more : 1- Junk synchron is summoned and then summons Necro Gardna from the graveyard. Later, skill drain is activated. In that case, if Necro Gardna is sent to the graveyard, can its effect be activated?

2- The effect of Crush Card Virus is activated so cards drawn are checked. Do we speak about the draw phase only or also about effects like Crystal Seer and/or Solar Exchange?

3- Can you give some examples of cards that destroy cards in hand

4- Can the Calculator be added from the deck to the hand by the effect of Sangan? And by the effect Limit reverse?Bainina 19:04, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

1) "Junk Synchron" cannot negate effects which activate in the Graveyard. It will have no effect on "Necro Gardna", regardless of "Skill Drain".
2) "Crush Card Virus" affects all cards that are drawn, regardless of how they were drawn. It will destroy cards drawn by "Solar Recharge", but it will not destroy cards added to your hand by "Crystal Seer" because "Crystal Seer" does not make you "draw" card.
3) "Chain Destruction", "Crush Card Virus" and friends, "Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin".
4) No. "The Calculator" has ? ATK and ? is not a number, so ? cannot be less than 1500 (or 1000).

Here's my question for today : "Monsters that have to be sent to the graveyard for Urgent Tuning must be from the field, or can I also send some from my hand?"Bainina 20:34, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

No, it has to be on the field. "Urgent Tuning"'s Synchro Summon is just like a regular Synchro Summon. Danny Lilithborne 23:21, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

I tributed Stardust Dragon this turn and at the end phase I have 7 cards in hand. What should I do first? Special summon Stardust or discard 1 card? Bainina 17:28, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for replying so quickly. If someone could confirm. (unless The Horror is absolutely positive about what he said)Bainina 17:45, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

You do not have to discard first. The ruling is that you cannot end your turn if you have 7+ cards in your hand, and just because you're in the End Phase does not mean that you want to end your turn. (For example, you can still activate Spell Speed 2+ effects.) You can Special Summon "Stardust Dragon" and then discard. --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 18:09, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
  • "If the Turn Player has more than six cards in his hand at this time, he/she must discard to the Graveyard as many cards as necessary in order to get back to six. This action is the very first thing to happen in any End Phase." The Horror'Speak if you dare 18:23, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Two contradictory answers. Sorry but I still wonder who's right.Bainina 19:25, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Rulebook, page 33.

Announce the end of your turn, and if there are any cards on the field which say “…during the End Phase…” in their text, resolve those effects in this phase. If you have more than 6 cards in your hand at the end of this phase, select and discard cards to the Graveyard until you only have 6 cards in your hand.
