I have a few question on how and when effects happen.

1: Water Hazard. It's a continuous spell card with an ignition effect, does it work like Scrubbed Raid in that you can activate its effect when you activate it? If so, does it still summon if Mystical Space Typhoon or Dark Bribe is chained to it?

2: Big Bang Shot. Similar question, if Mystical Space Typhoon is chained to it, is the equipped monster removed from play, or is it considered to have never been properly equipped? Dark Bribe would clearly prevent the removal from play effect from triggering, correct?

3: Gravekeeper's Recruiter/Oyster Meister. When does the effect resolve? If Recruiter is sent to the graveyard as a cost for Gravekeeper's Descendant to destroy a face down Mind Crush, will the card be in the hand to chain Mind Crush to, or is it added after the chain resolves, starting a new chain. The Oyster Meister question is the same thing, if tributed with Spiritual Water Art - Aoi, the token doesn't summon until after the chain, so a 2nd Spiritual Water Art - Aoi or Fish Depth Charge can't be chained tributing the token, right?

Thanks in advance for any help.

1) When you activate Water Hazard you can also use its effect to Special Summon a monster (if possible). If Mystical Space Typhoon or Dark Bribe is chained to it then the effect disappears.
2) If Mystical Space Typhoon or Dark Bribe is chained to Big Bang Shot's activation then the monster will not be removed from the field.
3) Right. The effect of Gravekeeper's Recruiter/Oyster Meister activates after Gravekeeper's Descendant/Spiritual Water Art - Aoi's chain fully resolves, starting a new chain.

Thanks for the help, a couple more small things:

With special summoning at the same time as activating Water Hazard, if the summoning is negated by Dark Bribe/Mystical Space Typhoon, does the monster that would be summoned stay in the hand, is it sent to the graveyard, is it shown when the effect is used then returned to the hand, or something else?

I'm also a little fuzzy on priority. When can I activate cards during my opponent's turn? Can I use a card like Spiritual Water Art - Aoi during their standby phase if they don't do anything to start a chain? During their Main Phase, can I play a trap card that doesn't require any specific timing before they can summon or set a card?

Thanks again. 24.210.251.140 (talk) 07:11, March 12, 2011 (UTC)

if the effect is negated nothing happens to the monster, it stays where it is. Beside that, you choose the monster to ss during resolution of the effect, when it is negated you haven't even chosen one. Note, that cards that affect the hand do not target (best example here is Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon who also doesn't target because he can summon from the hand).

You can activates traps or other effects whenever you want (if the card is allowed to). Draw phase, standby, main, doesn't matter. Whenever your opponent activated something or says, that he wants to switch to another phase or simply pas priority you can activate your effect. -dest- (talkcontribs) 10:23, March 12, 2011 (UTC)
