Forum:Glad Beast Q's

Two glad beasts are tagging in and there is a stardust dragon on the field. The two glad beasts are Retiari (Chain Link 1) and Murmillo (chain link 2). Would my opponent be able to tribute stardust to negate murmillos effect? My thought is no because he cannot interrupt the chain, and thus he misses the timing.

Also, does the tag-in effect of Laquari boosting its attack cause a chain link (i.e. would I be able to make Laquari chain link 1 and Murmillo chain link 2 and still destroy Stardust Dragon successfully)? — This unsigned comment was made by Hidoisan (talkcontribs) 04:54, 22 June 2009

To negate an effect, Stardust Dragon, must be chained directly to it. If the effect that Stardust want to destroy is at the last chain link, then Stardust can be chained to that effect.
During the End Step, you apply the effects of the Glads separated, not forming a chain.

You might wanna put Murmillo on chain link 1 so that stardust dragon cannot chain to it because Retiari already did. War Pigg 05:07, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

  • There is no chain here. Both Gladiator Beasts' effects are activated separate. That means, you activate and resolve the first, and then you activate and resolve the second. Stardust Dragon can be chained to Gladiator Beast Murmillo anyway. ATEMVEGETA (Talk) 05:19, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

I think he meant tagging in with Gyzarus, ATEM. (simultaneously) Otherwise this question wouldn't make sense. War Pigg 09:20, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

If he meant that, then "Gladiator Beast Murmillo" will be Chain Link 1 (because it is mandatory) and "Gladiator Beast Retiari" will be Chain Link 2 (because it is optional). "Stardust Dragon" cannot be chained because the effect of "Stardust Dragon" must be chained directly to the effect which it will negate.
Also, the effect of "Gladiator Beast Laquari" does not use a Chain Link. It will not prevent "Stardust Dragon" from negating and destroying "Gladiator Beast Murmillo".
