Forum:Glad Beast timing

If I'm playing gladiator beasts and my opponent is also. How would the timing work if I attack one of his Glads and neither dies, like say waboku. Does my monster recycle to the deck first or would his? Or do they go at the same time. If they don't go off at the same time could the player who goes off first pull mermillo to destroy the glad going second?
I've been trying to get an answer to this for a while. Thankz for any assist. Cobolt1800 10:44, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Let's have, for argument's sake, a Laquari on either side, neither destroyed.

1. The turn player chooses whether to tag out Laquari. They select yes.

2. Their opponent does the same.

3. Since they both optional effects that activate at the same time, they start a chain. The turn player's effect becomes chain link; the opponent's chain link 2.

4. The chain link resolves backwards. So the opponent chooses his GB of choice, and then the turn player.

5. Assuming they both pick Murmillo, The opponent's Murmillo will want to activate as soon as its summoned, but as it is a mandatory effect in the middle of a chain resolving, it will wait until after it is finished. The turn player's does likewise.

6. Both Murmillos activate after the chain has finished. Since they're both activating at the same time, they start an entirely new chain; Turn player Chain Link 1 and Opponent Chain Link 2.

7. Chain resolves backwards, like in step 4.

3-D, that is incorrect. The "tag-out" effects of "Gladiator Beast" monsters do not form a Chain; they each activate and resolve separately in their own Chains. The Turn Player has Priority to "tag-out" all his "Gladiator Beast" monsters before the opponent can "tag-out" his.
The Turn Player may "tag-out" first and Special Summons "Gladiator Beast Murmillo". The effect of "Gladiator Beast Murmillo" will activate, and you can destroy the opponent's "Gladiator Beast" monster. Then, your opponent may not "tag-out" his "Gladiator Beast" monster which was destroyed by "Gladiator Beast Murmillo", since the "Gladiator Beast" monster needs to be face-up on the field to "tag-out".
