Forum:I have a few questions...

1) If I were to activate Super Polymerization, using Elemental Hero Absolute Zero as one of the material monsters, would my opponent's monsters be destroyed (since it leaves the field upon the resolution of Super Polymerization)?

2) Would Armed Sea Hunter stop Flip Effects from activating should I attack a face-down Flip Effect Monster?

3) Should the monster I attack with Armed Sea Hunter survive battle (with damage calculation being applied), how long would my opponent's monster's effect be negated? ie. If I were to attack a Stardust Dragon with Armed Sea Hunter, would it not be able to activate it's effect to negate a Torrential Tribute that is activated in his next turn?

4) Tell me if I'm correct on why Black Horn of Heaven can't negate a monster that is Special Summoned by another card. The card that revives the monster activates (let's use Monster Reborn here since there are no other effects to it). Black Horn of Heaven can't negate that, so it resolves. Upon resolution, the monster is revived, but it doesn't start a chain. I can't negate the summon because the monster is on the field. Is this all correct? If so, then why can Horn of Heaven/Solemn Judgment negate a Normal/Flip Summon? Hozu 22:51, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

1) Yes.

2) No. as the flip effect happens before the end of damage calculation.

3) Until the monster is returned to the hand/deck/extra deck.

4) The monster is summoned by the card effect, BHoH can't negate the card effects, at the time when they resolve, nothing can be chained due to it being at the stage of resolution. (though Bottomless Trap Hole can respond to the succesfull resolution). HoH & SJ can negate normal summons because they aren't the resolution. And because they say they can.-82.11.158.0 23:51, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. I should have been more clear with my second question though. I know the Flip Effect activates before damage calculation, but the effect resolves after (as seen in Breakdown of the Battle Phase). I meant to ask would the Flip Effect resolve? ie. I attack a face down Man-Eater Bug with Armed Sea Hunter, it gets flipped, the effect activates and damage calculation is done. The effect would resolve now, or would it be negated? Armed sea hunter negates effects, not the activation of the effect. So the effect activates, no matter what. Armed sea hunter activates in sub step 5, the effect resolves in sub step 6, so the negation comes bevore the effect can resolve. And so it would resolve without effect. -dest- 01:25, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
