Everyone loves fire - it's cool... metaphorically speaking, that is... and it can burn things. Everyone also loves dinosaurs (except for Randall Munroe). A while ago, DT04 to be exact, Konami realized this and combined the two in the Jurrac archetype, which is composed of Dinosaurs that are ON fire. That's one reason I'm a fan of the Jurracs, but as you're about to see, the main reason is that it's a very powerful archetype!

This deck has actually been tested a substantial amount. I used to think that the Jurrac archetype was really about synchro summons, and it can certainly do that, but I eventually learned that it is capable of so much more.

Jurrac Guivre is the first card mentioned here because of his fairly powerful toolbox effect. He's basically a Shura for Jurracs, except the monster's effect is not negated and it can't attack the turn it's summoned. Oh, and I can summon monsters of 1700 ATK, which is nice... and it works when it destroys tokens. Jurrac Velo is like Giant Rat, but it can summon monsters in any position and it is a beatstick on its own, both of which are good. Stauriko special summons two tokens whenever it's destroyed by battle - it's not quite Dandylion, but it works fairly well. Deino can abuse those tokens to hell and back, because in the end phase of a turn it destroys something by battle I can tribute any Jurrac to draw 2 cards. It's technically a +1 in card advantage, and it also works when it destroys tokens, which is nice. Not to mention that it's a level 3 tuner with 1700 ATK.

Jurrac Aeolo is a level 1 tuner, and I can tribute it to special summon any level 4 or lower Jurrac from my grave. If I need another Guivre, or Velo, or something, Aeolo can help. Jurrac Herra special summons from my hand or graveyard when one of my defense-position Jurracs is destroyed by battle. As you'll imagine, it combos quite nicely with Stauriko, giving me three new monsters when Stauriko is destroyed by battle. Garim/Gallim/whatever is a level 2 tuner that either destroys the monster that destroys it, or forces my opponent to discard a card. It's fairly good, and also combos with Herra. Ptera bounces whatever monster attacks it, and if it's still alive after damage calculation it can gain some defense to boot. Also combos well with Herra.

The first spell is 3 Fossil Dig. Thanks to it, I can search out literally EVERY monster in my deck easily. Combined with Guivre and Vello, that means I have 9 ways to search out my deck's monsters. Solidarity is next. Since I only run Dinosaurs, I can use it to get an 800 ATK boost for all my monsters, making destroying things with Deino and Guivre all the easier. Shrink and Book of Moon also make destruction easier, and can be set as a nasty surprise. 2 Noblemen of Extermination take the place of Heavy Storm, because I don't want to destroy my own Solidarity most of the time. Thanks to Nobleman, I can get rid of, say, every single copy of Dimensional Prison in my opponent's deck, making destroying my opponent's monsters all the easier to manage. One Mystical Space Typhoon gets rid of any other nasties, and an Enemy Controller can do several things. If my opponent has a troublesome monster on their side of the field, I can tribute my monster, take theirs, and tribute it for Herra or use it in a synchro summon with one of my tuners. Or I can simply use it to block an attack and switch my opponent's monster to defense position, making it much easier to destroy.

Royal Oppression is the first trap, and here it's at least as good as it is in Blackwings. It cannot negate the special summons of monsters thanks to Guivre, Velo, Stauriko or Herra, and it keeps my opponent's monsters at a manageable attack strength, making them easier to destroy. I can't use the effect of Jurrac Aeolo, or synchro summon, but it's a fairly small price to pay. Two copies of Bottomless Trap Hole give me a way to get rid of my opponent's monsters. Mirror Force clears out my opponent's monsters, and can save me from some OTKs. Torrential Tribute is another card for hating on summons, and Solemn Judgment protects my Oppressions, Solidarities, and face-downs.

The extra deck starts off with JURRAC METEOOOOOOR!!!! It's surprisingly easy to summon here - I can use Deino+Jurrac Token+Herra, Deino+Ptera+level 4 monster, or Garim+2 level 4 monsters. 2 Giganots can give me some very powerful attack boosting, and can easily be summoned thanks to Guivre. Velhipto is something I put in because I figure it should be useful someday. The rest is fairly generic.

Tell me what you think of this deck. Runer5h 21:35, May 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I realy like your deck and introduction of this archetyp, but i disagree about the using of solidarity. you woukd destroy it´s effect with your synchro monster and so the lost of staples like heavy isn´t worth it. use "Jurassic World" or "Molten Destruction" instead and get rid of nobleman for heavy and lightning. rest of the deck looks decent. I've actually found it to be of critical importance for my monsters to get 800 ATK as opposed to only 500 or 300. And I don't bring out Meteor every duel. Thanks for the advice, but I need the ATK more. Oh, and click here for a ridiculous duel I had with this deck. Runer5h 19:30, May 10, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

Well, i see why you like it after such a duel xD but as you said, it´s a bit crazy. What do you say to the idee to sidedeck 2x molten destruction. it is right that it is a different between 800 or 500 boost, but i think it isn´t so important, if you can handle the attackpoints of your enemies monsters. vs lightsworns for example i would run molten, because your 1700er monster with molten are strong enough to handle wulf. vs celtia and judgment dragon it doesn´t make a difference, because they would destory your boost. vs monarcs solidarity is better to handle the 2400er. when your monsters are "strong" enough with molten vs the deck of your enemie I would run molten, if solidarity is needed to mess up, then run solidarity ;) i think molten offers more constancy for the deck. That's actually a very good idea, and something that I hadn't thought of. Thanks! Runer5h 01:24, May 11, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

OK, I made a change that I can't believe I hadn't thought of before... I'm swapping out a Nobleman of Extermination for Giant Trunade. I can get rid of my own Royal Oppression to synchro summon on my own turn, and get rid of all my opponent's S/Ts for the turn. Runer5h 19:31, May 11, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

yeah, thats a good idea with trunade o.O get rid of the other nobleman too. i think this spell sucks -.- for example bottomless. it is more or less a staple in many decks. if you destroy a bottomless of your enemie, your lose the trap also. or maybe you lose your solemm and so on. maybe it hurts you more than it helps. i guess a dust tornado or a "staple" card like lightning would be better, or 3x book maybe. well, i don´t see the point why anyone should run nobleman in a jurac deck.
