Forum:Kiseitai vs. The wicked Avatar

Here is the situation between person A and person B. Person A summons The Wicked Avatar, which has the following effect: This card cannot be special summoned. This card cannot be normal summons or set except by Tributing 3 monsters. Your opponent cannot activate spell or trap cards until the end of their 2nd turn after this card is normal summoned. The ATK and Def of this card are each 100 points higher than the highest face-up monster's attack on the field (exept the wicked avatar).

So Person A summons The Wicked Avatar and attacks Person B's face down defense position Kiseitai. Kiseitai effect being: When your opponent's monster attacks this card in face-down defense position, the attacking monster is equipped with this card (damage calculations are canceled). Treat this card as an Equip Magic Card. During each of your opponent's standby phases incarease your Life Points by half of the ATK of the monster equipped with this card.

Can the card Kiseitai be attached to The Wicked Avatar? Would Kiseitai's effect be considered activated by the card owner? Or does The Wicked Avatar's effect of no spell or traps can be activated negate the Kiseitai's effect?

correct me if i am wrong . the activation of Kiseitai still count as monster effect , and Kiseitai treated as equip magic card is when the effect of Kiseitai resolve . i think Kiseitai can be attached to The Wicked Avatar . because The Wicked Avatar only negate the activation not the effect . The effect would definitely work, the effect of being TREATED as an equip card is irrelevant. It would equip. Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 03:45, December 12, 2010 (UTC)
