Forum:Kuraz/MultiArchType Machine Deck

The deck started as a continuous trap/Uria deck along with effects that want your own cards to be destroyed in conjunction with Magical Hats and Uria, Lord of Searing Flames. It has lots of synergy--its best strength in many ways, however, is its ability to have a meta-morphic sideboard. Since it loves continuous traps, it can support Uria and Magic Planter in the sideboard...and then your free to use anti-meta sideboard cards like Non-Fusion Area, Vanity's Emptiness, Disharmony, Imperial Iron Wall, etc... Especially since it doesn't use Synchros. Starlight Road has been used too (hence the Starlight in the Extra deck).

Some builds of the deck also mainboard Vanity's Emptiness to lock down an opponent after swarming the field with high level monsters. Red Screen and Scrubbed Raid have been used in the past. And in certain metas, Double Cyclone or Mystical Space Typhoon will be required to shut down Royal Decree. Pole Position Works well in the deck as well--it punishes Trunade, saves your high level creatures from Dark Hole, can be tributed for Uria, searched (and destroyed) with Magical Hats and lock down Solidarity/Gravekeeper decks (see Pole Position's ruling page for why).

Non-Fusion Area Is a highly recommended sideboard card for this deck to stop decks running Cyber-Dragon--since you use a good number of strong machines.

Specific Card Synergy Explanation:

  • Malefic Cyber End Dragon: Big creature. He does shut down other creatures from attacking, but can be tributed for Kuraz/Gear Dragon, powered by Limiter Removal and, if destroyed by his own effect can bring out Granel. It can be summoned without a field zone to cheat out Granel early.
  • Meklord Emperor Granel: Combos with Magical Hats, Kuraz, Malefic monsters, Limiter Removal, Dark Hole, Zoma the Spirit. Can be searched for with Meklord Fortress.
  • Magical Hats: You can use this to search for Meklord Fortress and/or Geartown, depending on the situation. It also flips trap monsters face down so your opponent can be made to attack the face down field spells. If destroyed by hat effect at end of combat, you can bring out Granel. You can also sideboard in Pole Position...but comboing Pole Position with Geartown is dangerous.
  • Tiki Soul: A very tricky card--it can save you form board swepers with other trap monsters. Double Tiki Soul is very strong. Magical Hats + Tiki Soul can be decent--but only against monsters unable to kill Tiki Soul (otherwise they'll just attack the Tiki Soul during the replay). Its good with Zoma the Spirit since you can attack with Zoma, do the damage and just set the spirit with Tiki Soul's effect.
  • Call of the Haunted: I don't really need an excuse to play it, of course, but it works especially well in this deck. If Call gets destroyed you can bring out Granel. You can Call Kuraz and have the emperor blow up himself and the call for +1 card advantage.

I think you could use some better Normal Summonable monsters. The Calculator just doesn't cut it. →I agree a lot, actually. He is a bit of a remnant from when this was a more trap-monster centric deck. I'm thinking a monarch or something might be good--or maybe something from the scrap archtype that isn't 100% excusive to iself. I wish there was a card like Cyber Valley that let you destroy your own M/T cards to draw...76.94.29.97 (talk) 01:12, May 13, 2011 (UTC)KitsuneWarlock

  • "Non-Fusion Area" won't protect you from "Chimeratech Fortress Dragon", since it is not Summoned by Fusion Summon. I would recommend not using it.
  • You're running two copies of "Dark Hole". Try MST.
  • As for "The Calculator", consider using "Breaker" instead, since "Oppression" will kill you. 207.233.120.2 (talk) 19:54, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
