Forum:MONSTER REBORN BANDED IN SEPTEMBER?!

I was looking at the band/limited list for September, and I see Monster Reborn as one of the cards being placed on the band list! Is this Konami's version of a mass-world, sick, cruel joke or something? please tell me this is not happening. That is just about everyone's fav. spell card! --I may not be perfect, but thats who I am. (talkcontribs) 15:38, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

It's a lucky topdeck card that wins games you have no business winning, and it rewards reckless play by giving you a second chance you don't deserve. Given its high power level and low skill level, I'm surprised it wasn't banned sooner. Emmic (talkcontribs) 15:42, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

that is not entirely true. winning, even with monster reborn you have a 50-50 chance. I wouldn't say its a "second chance" because most decks are not reckless, and the odds of drawing it in any deck are from 40:1 to 60:1. yes it in some way has a high power level, however the decision is up to you on what you want to bring back. about 9;10 times i find that the monster that comes back ends up back in the graveyard again. besides, second chances is what this world is suppose to be about. not only that, but remember there are counters to this card, like Call of the Grave, Magic Jammer, and so on. if not to the spell, there are counters to prevent the summon of the monster. so unless you can give me a good reason to convince me that monster reborn belongs on the band list, I will still consider it's band a cruel joke by konami. --I may not be perfect, but thats who I am. I kinda feel the same way. I don't like it any more than you do, but it will be back soon, I'm sure. I hate that a bunch of other cards I rely on were banned, like Number 16, POA, and Heavy Storm. NMBRHNTR64 (talkcontribs) 16:49, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

I suggest you read this article. While it does not address Monster Reborn specifically, it explains the reasons for why many of the cards were hit, and the general philosophy behind it. --Eps01 (talkcontribs) 18:08, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

It shouldn't have come off the Banned List in the first place. --MasterMarik (talkcontribs) 18:38, August 25, 2013 (UTC)

Moved to correct forum. Also, Monster Reborn is a very unfair card. It's a no strings attached card that lets you get any monster in either players graveyard. If you really need your monsters that badly, run 3 Call of the Haunted or 3 Pinpoint Guard. Also, Shadow, if I told you that Delinquent Duo could come back because we have Magic Jammer and Dark Bribe, what would you say to that? Please don't use the counter argument, we can do that for almost every card that's Forbidden today. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 19:31, August 25, 2013 (UTC)
@Sir Shadow, and everyone else supporting Reborn, I think every one of you would have liked Pot of Greed a lot if it was around for as long as Reborn was because it's a game-winning, unfair card everyone uses, but that doesn't justify it as being balanced card at all. A banned card isn't "not broken" because anyone can use it; in fact by that logic the entire banlist is pointless because everyone can use banned cards so why ban them in the first place? Because they're terribly designed, degenerate cards that do nothing but end the duel before your opponent can do anything to stop you. Reborn is nothing more than a sacky, broken topdeck that does nothing but give you an unfair advantage, and sometimes unfair win, over your opponent for no reason, just like Pot of Greed. I hope Monster Reborn doesn't come off the forbidden list again. It deserves to stay banned forever. Ninety-eight (talkcontribs) 01:32, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

I had a thought, what if they just ban the old reborn, and make a new reborn? The only difference would be added card effect, for example: ....Monsters summoned by this effect can't attack or use it's effects this tern. That way everyone still gets to use their fav. spell, and yet it has a cost that could be reasonable. --I may not be perfect, but thats who I am. (talkcontribs) 03:32, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

And to answer your remark about d.d. Dark Ace, I say go for it, let it come off ban list.--I may not be perfect, but thats who I am. (talkcontribs) 03:37, August 26, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, if anything Reborn needs to be replaced, something that's more balanced than just getting a monster back from either grave for no cost, kinda like how Heavy Storm replaced Harpie's Feather Duster and Dark Hole replaced Raigeki, of which I don't think Heavy Storm is banworthy in the first place. Call of the Haunted is always available as a weaker substitute. Also, are you serious about Delinquent Duo coming off the banned list Shadow? It's a hand trampling spell card that kills two cards in your opponent's hand for the ridiculously cheap cost of 1000 lp. It's one of the, if not the most, broken hand control cards in the game.
