1)Both player's LP is at 1000

Turn Player attacks his opponent's face-down monster using an Ancient Gear Golem.Turns out the face-down monster is Marshmallon .Does this Duel ends in a draw?

2)When a face-down Marshmallon is attacked and activates it's effect,can Spell Of Pain,Divine Wrath or Gladiator Beasts War Chariot be activated?

i guess the turn player will win because Marshmallon]'s effect will activate after damage step and the piercing damage happened in the damage step which which will happen first.

i think marshmallon after being flipped and being attacked can be negated or reversed by divine wrath or spell of pain, i guess it goes too for the chariot (i doubt about the chariot though)

Question 1, Marshmallon's effect would activate first. See Breakdown of the Battle Phase for the reason.. work it out xD

For question 2, Divine Wrath and Gladiator Beast War Chariot can be activated. SPell of Pain cannot be activated because it does not change the ATK or DEF points of a monster on the field. Akyrix 16:33, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

1) "The controller of a monster that attacks this face-down card takes 1000 damage after damage calculation.", which means Damage Calculation happens before Marshmallon's effect activates. So Ancient Gear Golem will win.

2) Only Divine Wrath and Gladiator Beast War Chariot can be used here. Spell of Pain cannot because it cannot be activated during the Damage Step. Also, I'd like to mention that cards that alter ATK and DEF can only be activated during the sub-steps 1-3 of the Damage Step, and not later as when Marshmallon's effect activates (sub-step 5).
