Forum:More Dragunities

So, here we go, another Dragunity deck. What can I say? They're fun, and good. And inexpensive.

Fairly standard build, as you can see. I run the Leyvaten loop, and my single Icarus attack is to be used on a used-up Legionnaire. It also dodges Bottomless for Dux. Suggestions are welcome. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 18:54, March 11, 2011 (UTC)

I wouldn't use Foolish Burial, instead i would use Release Restraint Wave. That's why you have Ravine so you don't have to use Foolish Burial. For your this build Chimeratech isn't useful, but you definitely need 3x Stardust Dragon. Catastor and 1 Vortex The Whirlwind would also be extremely useful as well. Mist Wurm isn't extremely useful but i guess you can keep it. Good build, the synchro's need work, great job! Automation44 (talkcontribs) 07:43, March 12, 2011 (UTC)Automation44

I disagree in regards to Vortex the Whirlwind. It SPECIAL Summons the Winged Beasts, but Dux and Legionnaire can only Equip when they're NORMAL Summoned. I do have Catastor, and I can see why you say to take out Chimeratech. Foolish hasn't been testing well for me, so I'm considering dropping it for either a third Terraforming or a third Pot of Avarice. It depends on how much I fill up my Graveyard in future test duels. I've decided to abandon the Leyvaten loop as it requires a lot of set-up for not a lot of gain. I've dropped the corresponding LaDDs in favor of a pair of Dragunity Militums. Militum combos well with Aklys (in the absence of a Dux+Phalanx/Ravine) and makes a powerful opening synch for Gae Dearg before my Graveyard is set up (which Gae Dearg will immediately take care of.) I've also dropped the Foolish Burial for a Book of Moon. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 22:42, March 14, 2011 (UTC)

Honestly, Dragunity Militum is pretty unnecessary if you have lots of ways to get phalanx into the graveyard, as it requires you to have Aklys in hand. Once you have Phalanx in your grave, your Duxs and Legionarres can just as easily set up synchros as Militum, not to mention the fact that with Phalanx and Dux you can set up and 8 star synchro by synching Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana, and then re-equipping Phalanx. Militum just takes up valuable space that could be used by Masked dragons or something. 108.67.20.227 (talk) 06:44, March 15, 2011 (UTC)Q_Guy_7

Your leyvaten loop doesn't work because leyvaten doesn't equip itself and you don't run LADD. It's unncessesary.

@Q_Guy_7 I understand what you're saying, but I disagree with it. Militum creates another option for a powerful opening move, which so far seems to be critical for Dragunities as my hand is drained pretty quickly. It also allows another target for Icarus Attack, which is another good opening move if I have no other options. Furthermore, if all my Duxes are gone I now still have an option for Synchro Summoning. At any rate, with Dragon Ravine there are very few dead draws in this deck, as I can always drop the Militum for a Dux. Thanks for the suggestion though. @Lappyzard: As a fellow Dragunity user myself, what is this powerful opening move that you're talking about with Militum? I assume you're summoning Aklys, equipping Militum with Aklys, and then Special summoning Aklys to tune for 6 and destroy a card, right? I suppose that is a pretty cool combo, I just find that my Aklys end up in the grave very very quickly. And as for your hand being drained, I find that Morphing Jar is wonderful in this deck. 108.67.20.227 (talk) 01:51, March 22, 2011 (UTC) Q_Guy_7

Lacking Dragon Ravine, I can use Aklys to Special Summon Militum, followed by Militum summoning Aklys, Synch for Gae Dearg, and use him as a pseudo-Ravine. His effect basically lets me dump Phalanx right away, which is what I'd do with Ravine anyway. By the way, you wouldn't get to destroy a card with Aklys because it wasn't Equipped to a monster. Yeah, realized that just after I posted, I was just thinking hard about a combo that would be good. It's ok, but just a bit too situational in my opinion, becoming obsolete if you don't open with it. Although I do see your reasoning, as it is good if you don't grab a ravine or Phalanx early. You just run a different kind of deck than I do. 108.67.20.227 (talk) 21:28, March 22, 2011 (UTC)Q_Guy_7

My build is designed for absolute consistency, because I really hate it when I get a bad opening hand. Draw power, searching, back-up plans, alternatives, I fit as many as I could while still keeping the basis of the deck. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 22:12, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

Mine is around versatility, which gives me a few differences. Its pretty much the same as yours monster wise, but replacing Militums with 2 Dragunity Arma Mystletainn, which gives you even more opportunities for 8 stars and looping Aklys As well as adding in a Morphing Jar and Sangan and 3 Masked Dragon for deck thinning. I don't run Icarus or much S/T negation, I find Compulsory Evacuation Device to be far more multipurpose than Icarus, and Aklys takes care of most S/Ts before they have a chance to be activated. Just some suggestions, your deck looks great as well.108.67.20.227 (talk) 23:35, March 22, 2011 (UTC)Q_Guy_7

I dropped Icarus a while ago. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 23:38, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

Made a few tweaks, including dropping the Militums. They were good on paper, not so much in practice. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 01:07, March 24, 2011 (UTC)
