Forum:New Archfiend Deck

From Yugipedia
Jump to: navigation, search

I have updated this deck since I last posted this on here and taken advice from the last time and changed the deck accordingly. So far it's looking sound, very solid deck but you can never get everything spot on.

If there's any improvements you think that this deck needs please say and and also give constructed advice on the deck also.

Alright, I've been playing archfiends for a while, and this is the deck I use. It does pretty damn well, and is 41 cards. Your deck looks good, but not good enough to compete with current things. I'll list all the things that I see that might be issues you would want to resolve.

  1. 1. Archfiend Soldier - While he is a strong monster, has the archfiend name, and always gets the job done, He is basically just that. A beatstick and nothing more. You don't need him.
  1. 2. Gorz the Emissary of Darkness - He's good, but unnecessary. I almost always have traps on the field, so he's useless to me.
  1. 3. Only 2 Desrook is fine, but use 3 if you use Chaos Sorcerer over Dark Necrofear.
  1. 4, Why only one Archfiend General? He's your strongest level 4 AND lets you search for pandemonium. Use three, there are no two ways about it.
  1. 5. Darkness Neosphere - In your case, he's just a beatstick. You have no continuous traps.
  1. 6. Dark Necrofear - Not as useful as chaos sorcerer, but it's really personal preference.
  1. 7. Mad archfiend is useless. 100% useless. As are lancer archfiend, archfiend interceptor, goblin elite attack force, giant orc, and trap eater, and summoner monk. Archfiend empress is especially useless, because the only thing she summons is Imprisonedqueen, who costs you 1000 a turn and is more useful in the grave. Infernalqueen is useless without vilepawn
  1. 8. Evil hero infernal gainer might seem good, but he really isn't. Trust me on this one.
  1. 9. Use 3 copies of Pandemonium. Screws with other decks that are field based (Gravekeepers) and maintains your hand size.
  1. 10. Forget enemy controller, use Falling Down instead. At least 2 of it. It is AMAZING.

Anyway, here are some reasons for putting in the cards I did.

Mist Archfiend - He's level 5, which means that when he's destroyed by his own effect, you can search for a level 4 or 3 if Pandemonium is on the field.

Dark Grepher/Armageddon Knight - Put things in your graveyard such as Stygian street patrol to get around terrorking's restrictions, Desrook for an emergency chaos sorcerer, or Imprisonedqueen for a 1000-atk boost. Then, you can use Archfiend's Roar when she is in the grave to revive her and during the end phase if Pandemonium is on the field, search for any archfiend.

Falling Down - IT TAKES THEIR MONSTERS FOREVER

Safe Zone - All your power relies on having strong monster cards. Safe zone is the ultimate trap-within a trap, because if they return it to your hand or destroy it while it is face down, you can chain it, attach it to their monster, then blow it up. Set this card even if you have no monsters, because this often happens:

Two face down safe zones

They have 2 strong monsters, enough to attack you for game. They play giant trunade, clearing your backrow so-

OH WAIT NOPE SAFE ZONE they have no monsters now. Hell, you can even use this with your own trunade.

Basically, play nice and defensive until the moment presents itself, then hit them for huge damage. Game, Set, and Mad.

um are you crazy evil hero infernal gainer works well in archfiend decks just because you cant see that doesnt mean anything and with archfiends draining shields go well to gain life points when you need them because either pandemonium is gone or never was there. also falling down SUX you need to much to one use it two costs too much in the long run. too many stupid people think they know how to make good decks. archfiend soldier rules. woooo

First off, please don't EDIT MY POSTS. Second, I'll explain why they aren't so great. My words are just suggestions, and you can take them as you will.

Infernal Gainer is cool, useful, but does NOT earn his keep because he just isn't useful often enough. Draining shield is a good card, yes, and you should consider using it. However, I personally prefer dimensional prison because while draining shield does restore the life points lost by using archfiends, why not just have more pandemonium to prevent losing the LP in the first place, and have a better trap? Falling down is a great card, because if you use it right, you will have their monster for long enough to take FD's damage once, maybe twice on rare occasions. Hell, use it to synchro their guy, tribute him, who cares? It's YOURS. Archfiend soldier does rule, and he's one of my favourite monsters, but Archfiend General is just way, way more useful. And please, don't call me stupid when you don't know what you're talking about. Wightmare (talkcontribs) 05:48, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Summoner Monk

The main reason I had Summnoner Monk in the deck was to maintain field presense early by special summoning cards like Giant Orc, Elite Goblin Attack Force etc. Lancer Archfiend is in there to give Gorz, Darkness Neosphere etc added spice to them. and i had a little stragegy using Archfiend Interceptor along side some trap cards like Negate Attack, Magic Cylinder etc to creat sort of light burn to my opponent.

I agree with taking out the Mad Archfiends i put them in there to get special summoned by Summoner Monk and create damage via its effect :P.

thanks for the advice, i'm gonna see if i can find a mist archfiend for at least £3 from sum where and put it in the deck and take out Trap Eater

Re New ArchFiend Deck

Id Put in the Dark Lucius Tro for ezzy Summon and the effects plus a hard hitter at Lv 8

Dark Lucius/Summoner Monk

Dark Lucius monsters could be good, but I don't see them as an easy summon, especially the level 6 requirement. If you can consistently do it, then great job, and you should use him.

The Summoner monk strategies are good, but the cost of a magic card kinda gums it up. But, if it wins you duels, do it. The interceptor thing sounds cool, if you combined it with Safe zone and then turned the monster to defense mode, then used a card such as Staunch Defender or Battle Mania then you could have some serious burn damage on your hands. Wight Edit

His build looks pretty good actually, though some small changes might make it faster,

I think-Resk () 16:44, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Archfiend Interceptor Strategy

Wightmare I like that strategy sounds good, that way I can burn my opponents life points a bit. :P Thanks for the input Wightmare and other people as well glad I made this post now.

is there anything other strategies i could make within this deck that seem viable?

ty .:Crack Of Dawn:. (talkcontribs) 17:35, June 20, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the advIce Resk, though I'm just gonna throw this out there - Why shadowknight? He's horrible if you don't have pandemonium on the field, and then Archfiend General is just better overall. Also, 173.24.84.218, please stop vandalizing the page. no cuz u ppl are too fucking dumb to know a good deck and yeah.. suck it

Wightmare (talkcontribs) 01:55, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Just a Thought

Also Invitation to a Dark Sleep would be good to Stop the opponent from Attacking But that's about all it's good For

Deck Strategies

I know somewhere within my deck there's plenty of strategies but just wanted to know what kind of other cards could I put into my deck that are reasonably quite cheap in English Pound (preferbly around the £1-£2.50 mark) that could make a difference and make quite a good strategy or end game :P.

ty .:Crack Of Dawn:. (talkcontribs) 09:59, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

Shadowknight Archfiend is a nice easy summon for a 2000 beatstick, and while general is better overall, he had a tendency to explode, or be discarded i've found, sometimes you just need something to whack over something-Resk () 11:12, June 21, 2011 (UTC)

How about you stop vandalizing?

Seriously, it's very annoying. Leave the topic for archival if you don't want to contribute.
