Forum:Pendulum Normal Monsters

Alright, just a basic question, but for the purpose of cards that check the status of a card in the hand, would a Pendulum Monster that has no monster effect (and is therefore yellow and green) count as a Normal Monster? I am attempting to see if it would work with "Heart of the Underdog" however I am aware that monsters that are Fusion/Synchro/Xyz/Ritual without effects are not considered Normal Monsters.

Mostly, I believe that they are considered "Normal Monsters" for all purposes except when they are active as Spells. Is that right? Is there no official ruling yet? --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 06:44, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Pendulums become spell only when they are in Pendulum Zone, otherwise they treated as a Monster. So if that pendulum monster has no Monster effect (like "Qliphoth Tool"), they can be searched by "Summoner's Art" and can work with "Heart of the Underdog" Elvin Kara (talkcontribs) 07:25, July 22, 2014 (UTC)

Excelent. One of my decks just became SO much more powerful. Ty for the response. --LordGeovanni- (Talk To Me) *Kupo* 07:55, July 23, 2014 (UTC)

According the official ruling of Card Rulings:Flash Knight, Pendulum Monsters without a Monster effect are treated as Normal monsters in the hand, Deck and Graveyard, and thus can be searched by cards that search Normal Monsters. Also, the winner of an official OCG tournament successfully used Summoner's Art to search Pendulum monsters for their Qlipoth deck. --Eps01 (talkcontribs) 08:29, July 23, 2014 (UTC)
