Forum:Possible Six Samurai/Macro deck?

Well, the release of Storm of Ragnarok is on the horizon and I need some help. You see, the new Six Samurai cards are scary, especially the new ones. I'm wondering if you guys think it's possible to build a Macro/Different Dimension/Remove from Play deck while incorporating Six Samurai monsters and, if it is possible, what cards should I be using?

It shouldn't be impossible to incorporate Six Samurai in here. All Six Samurai are good monsters, but the only problem I'm thinking about is that which ones I should use exactly. Any ideas on what I should use and how many I should use? If it is not possible to incorporate my favorite deck type, is there any way I can counter them? Any help is appreciated.

When it comes to countering, the first cards that come to mind are Gozen Match or any card that can destroy multiple monsters.

So yeah! Thanks for your input! :)

The Deck

Well, I don't really think that it is possible to run D.D. + Six Sams for one reason: The main card(s), Gateway of the Six's second effect, the most abused effect, relies on the deck and graveyard.
This means that although you can possibly kill your opponent with just cards from your deck alone, if you get Torrential Tributed, Mirror Forced, Dark Holed or Lightning Vortexed, there is no way for you to recover since all of your Six Sams are removed from play.
If you want to incorporate Marco + Six Sams, then the normal build of Six Sams would suffice, except for the fact that you have to OTK early. Typical Build would be:

  • True Six Samurai - Kizan x3 (Mini Grandmaster)
  • Grandmaster of the Six Samurai x3
  • True Six Samurai - Kageki x3 (Marauding Captain Effect)
  • Kagemusha of the Six Samurai x3 (Synchro)
  • Gateway of the Six x3
  • Six Samurai United x3 (More Bushido Token to use for Gateway)
  • True Six Samurai - Shien x3 (Controls the game well, easy to synchro)
And the rest is up to you. Some people include Hand, some use Mizuho. Its your choice.
    Possible Counters:
  • Puppet Plant
  • Kinetic Soldier
If anyone can see how Marco can work with Sams, then please show it too me too! ^^

Hmm, maybe I should use two Gateway of the Six, especially with the possible scarcity of it when people start using Six Samurai more. Even if I can't add things from the Graveyard, I'd only use it to add Six Sams from the Deck. I think it'll be a cool idea.

D.D.M. and D.D.R. might be a good idea for this deck to at least help Six Sams come out if they get removed from play. Discarding one card is just a minor price. Maybe Return from the Different Dimension would work too. Maybe use a Summoner Monk.

Hmm, I never thought of Return. Maybe Return might work.
But Summoner Monk does not, since only Kizan is level 4, the rest are level 3 or 5

And maybe put a Necroface in there if things get a bit hairy. He'll be acting as my Pot of Avarice since the Graveyard is inaccessible.

Hmm, I see. This idea can work. Except that it would be slower than the normal six samurai builds.

That's my only problem right now. It's going to be slow as hell. Unfortunately my dream may not be realized and I'll probably have to stick to either strictly Six Sams or Macro. I want to stick to my main cup of tea, Macro, but the only problem with it is that it can't stop decks who's main focus is swarming, like Blackwings and Six Sams. It's pretty weak against these kinds of decks, unless I use something like Gozen Match for Six Sams and use strictly DARK monsters.

Against Six Sams, do what the OCG does, most of the players there are packing 2 - 3 copies of Kinetic Soldiers and Puppet Plants in their side decks to counter the Sams. Also, it is proven that if you can stop the initial summon of a Samurai, their deck would then become much slower. But against swarming decks as a whole, maybe Summon Limit might help? O.O

Crap, man, with all these Continuous Traps in this deck, I might throw in an Imperial Custom and Uria. With Summon Limit, I might as well throw in a Royal Oppression and Special Hurricane. Slow them down even further!

Perhaps Magic Planter for draw power then?-Resk (talkcontribs) 15:52, January 26, 2011 (UTC)

If I'm throwing in Macro Cosmos for this build, I can't use Magic Planter since it has to be sent to the graveyard for it to activate. Now that I think about it, I can't use Uria either. Then again, there's a chance that I won't build this deck. I'll probably try it out either way.

Can you please give a decklist of the deck?
It'll be easier to see where improvements can be made.

Working on it. I haven't had time lately to concentrate on Yu-Gi-Oh.

Here's what I managed to pull out. The chances of getting this to work may be low, but I'm willing to try anything at least once. Any ideas on what the rarity of these new Six Sams are going to be?

    I'd try that, tbh-Resk (talkcontribs) 15:02, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Oh shoot, I like yours better. I also forgot about the other support cards of the Six Sam like Three Step Opposition.

    Swapped a Cosmo for a 3rd fissure, as i was being silly :3-Resk (talkcontribs) 15:26, January 31, 2011 (UTC)

Well, Storm of Ragnarok just had its sneak preview and I couldn't go to it because I got snowed in... lovely. Well, hopefully I'll still be able to get all the cards I need. I need to be very very careful in the days to come. Damn Six Samurai. AnnoyingMacroPrick (talkcontribs) 14:40, February 7, 2011 (UTC)
