Forum:Prisma & Future Fusion

I'm a veteran player have been playing for many years. I usually come to the wikia for detailed rulings on specific card rulings and always accepted them, but with these two cards I simply cannot agree with the wikia. So for a new deck I'm going to make I'm not sure which direction to take because or this ruling. let me explain.

Elemental Hero Prisma

Once per turn, you can activate this card's effect by revealing 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck and sending 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters listed on that card from your Main Deck to the Graveyard. Until the End Phase, this card's name becomes the name of the monster you sent to the Graveyard. The card says it can be a Fusion Material Monster.

Future Fusion

Send, from your Deck to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card, and select that 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. Special Summon a Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck with the same name as the selected Fusion Monster during your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) When this card is removed from the field, destroy the monster. When the monster is destroyed, destroy this card.

Here's My Point

To my knowledge when the card says any dragon type monster its any dragon type monster for the Fusion Material Monster. Famous use of Future Fusion is to put any five dragons you want in the graveyard for Five-Headed Dragon. From Reading Prisma's Effect along with Future Fusion I can't see any reason that I can't send any Dragon Type monster to the graveyard when I reveal Five-Headed Dragon using Prisma's effect. This goes the same for many other Fusion Monster cards. (I.E. Evil Hero Dark Gaia , Elemental Hero Absolute Zero and many others.)

I hope someone can help me with this, its really been bugging me when I think about it. Thanks DestinyWarrior (talkcontribs) 22:08, July 6, 2010 (UTC)

Future Fusion only states, that you send the fusion materials to the grave. Prismas effect states, that you have to send a fusion material to the grave that is listed on the fusion monster card. That means, that this has to be a specific stated monster and not variation of monsters (ex: Any e-Hero, Water Type Monsters or similar things). -dest- (talkcontribs) 01:03, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

hmmmm, there must be something I'm missing because Prisma's effect states sending 1 of the Fusion Material Monsters listed on that card from your Main Deck to the Graveyard.. while Future Fusion says pretty much the same thing, Send, from your Deck to the Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card. They both say listed. DestinyWarrior (talkcontribs) 01:12, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

The Japanese card text for both cards explains it better.

Future Fusion: "自分のデッキから融合モンスターカードによって決められたモンスターを墓地へ送り..."

This is translated as a "determined by the card" or "listed on the card".

Elemental Hero Prisma: "そのモンスターにカード名が記されている融合素材モンスター1体を自分のデッキから墓地へ送って発動する..."

This is translated as "with the same name as the one that is written on the card".-- HHTurtle  (Talk) 01:57, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Alright, that makes much more sense. With the English version I really could not see the difference. Thanks for clarifying this for me. Although if what I though was true it would ban Prisma Immediately. DestinyWarrior (talkcontribs) 03:31, July 7, 2010 (UTC)
