Forum:Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon

I was away for some time, and now that Heay Storm, Dark Hole, and Dragon Ravine have been banned, my deck no longer works as well.

Dragon Ravine was a major way to help me thin my deck and get dragons in the graveyard, and worked great with LP, Wyvern, Totem, etc. Without those combos, it's far to slow.

Are there any cards that can work as a substitute? I've considered Monster Gate, but the cards I can normal summon are hardly worth having on the field. Is there anything that will allow me to dump dragons, but in a more controlled manner?

Without heavy storm, what could I be able to work around for more spell/trap protection?

Thanks.

I've also found it's way easier with 2 REDD rather than 1. Drawing it has quickly won me games, since I usually have 5 to 9 dragons in the grave by that time, so that's not really something to change unless I can pull it back from the grave more easily, I think.

Firstly, the decklist you put only has 22 monsters and 38 cards total, also it would really help if we could see your extra deck too. Secondly, I don't really wanna just give you a decklist since I think putting together your own deck is a lot of the fun of YGO.

Cards you should really consider:

  • Trade-In; this card by itself will help speed up your deck a ton if you make a few changes to your monster lineup.
  • Herald of Creation; ok this should be a no-brainer but in case it doesn't click, this is just a better Divine Dragon.
  • Flamvell Guard; this card counts as a Normal monster while being a level 1 Tuner so it can be useful for both Dragon Shrine and Silver's Cry.
  • Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon; I'm gonna guess you're already using this card since you have all those level 1 tuners and 3 Blue Eyes, but if you aren't, then start.

I may be a bit biased towards Trade-In since it's my favorite draw engine (especially for dragon decks) but in this case it's actually kind of weird to have both White Stone and Cards of Consonance, and not have Trade-In. Including the 12 engine cards, it takes up a whole 24 cards from your deck and is actually really consistent.

Hope all this helps. Good luck.
