I mean, a free tribute or free blocker of an attack once per turn is incredible even if you need not to have any S/T on the field. I think this card is as good as Sinister serpent and that card is banned... Unless there's some OTK combo in Traditional format that can be pulled of with serpent, I think frog should also get the ban.

Treeborn Frog lately doesn't seem to be much of a threat now, with DD decks becoming bigger, and DD crow seeing a lot of play in Side Decks. Got the froggy in the grave? Discard and remove it from play, it's no longer a threat. I believe limiting is already enough for it. --Gadjiltron 11:30, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
It got banned because of cards like Magic Jammer- discarding sinister serpant basically meant you didn't have to lose anything for a cost. Think of it with lightning vortex, everyone would run 3. Also, Tribe-Infecting Virus if your old enough to remember it. Read on it :p--Psychosocial 14:46, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
