Forum:Special Summoning monsters from the banish pile

Hello I've got a query on special summoning fusion monsters that are banished and malefic monster maintenance costs.

A friend of mine uses a Malefic deck and I wanted to get an official ruling.

The first being if a malefic monster is being affected by skill drain and the Malefic World field spell is destroyed after skill drain has been activated isn't the malefic monster destroyed as well even though it's affected by skill drain? Can you please explain why it is or is not?

Also, he special summoned the fusion monster Cyber End Dragon using Different Dimension Reincarnation after it was banished by Malefic Cyber End Dragon's summoning cost. If I'm not mistaken that shouldn't be allowed because it wasn't properly fusion summoned but if I'm wrong could you please explain that as well? --68.80.142.179 (talk) 20:39, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

1) The "Malefic" monster will not be destroyed when "Malefic World" leaves the field. This is because the effect that would destroy the "Malefic" monster is currently being negated by "Skill Drain". On a side note, that does NOT mean you can Summon multiple "Malefic" monsters. See here, where it mentions "There can only be 1 face-up ___ on the field."
2) "In order for a Fusion Monster to be Special Summoned from the Graveyard to the field, it must first be Fusion Summoned properly through "Polymerization" or a card that specifies "this Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon"." - Fusion Monster (as such, the same applies for being banished as well)
