Forum:Splashable Anti-meta

I'm sure there's a page for this somewhere but I can never find what I'm looking for these days. Are there any cards that can be thrown into a deck that will help it against most or any meta game deck, without actually changing the deck itself too much. It's probably asking much, but it can't be impossible to give any deck an anti meta option, right?Jax the Swordsman (talkcontribs) 20:17, April 22, 2012 (UTC)

Umm Effect Veiler, Fiendish Chain, or in the right deck, Summon Limit --99.64.68.145 (talk) 20:38, April 22, 2012 (UTC)
  • I haven't been very active in much of the meta recently, but I may know a few cards. Most decks use cards like Solemn Warning and Torrential Tribute in the main deck. I'd assume that apart from side decking cards for exact decks or making an anti-meta deck, your best bet would be to focus on bounce and removal. Like Neo-Spacian Grand Mole or Mist Valley Soldier to send Xyz and Synchro monsters back to the extra deck, or normal monsters to hand. Or Karma Cut or Smashing Ground to just kill stuff. Lot of removal options, so hard to go into them all. But from what I've seen, staple cards in main deck with more focused cards in side deck seems like the best idea. Most meta Decks don't like an opposing "Thunder King Rai-Oh" or "King Tiger Wanghu", though they will restrict you a bit. You could always try Falzar's List of cards to side in against common decks. "Effect Veiler" and "Maxx 'C'" are generally damaging to the meta stuff no matter what you're running.

It very much depends on your deck. Really strong anti meta cards typically destroy your own deck as well. Dimensional Fissure, Macro Cosmos, Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, Skill Drain and Royal Prison can stop many decks but it might very well stop yours too.
Thunder King Rai-Oh and Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo (Or Jowgen the Spiritualist). Once you know your opponent's deck, Mirror of Oaths is really good and if your opponent loves his xyz monsters, Star Changer is a personal favourite. So, what kind of deck are you running? So since it's been mentioned so often, Effect Veiler is a must. These are good suggestions too. As for what deck I'm running, I haven't decided yet, I just thought this would be a good topic to read to build better decks. Thinking on Utopia though. Any more suggestions?
