Forum:Tips on my Watt Deck

Now keep in mind I'm not some huge deck builder, and I WANT this deck to be used in a tournament, but as of now, its still in the building process, I know that I am Spell and Trap heavy, but it's mostly to stall and burn until I win. I've won a majority of my duels and I know that I need some more Watt monsters, and I also need both of the Synchros.

I would like some advice on which cards to take out and which cards to keep in, I'm trying to keep a 40 card limit, so if you tell me to get rid of a card, give me a card to replace it. Please

Lets see, where to start. Dillon Addis (talkcontribs) 04:35, March 8, 2011 (UTC)

MMMK, lets start with a run down of the monsters.

First, lets take out fox, penguin soldier, and betta. They're ok, but they're not the best you could get. Next, you should be using Wattdragonfly and wattgrasshopper so you can make use of the lock. so you can do those at 3 and add an extra wattwoodpecker. next, i'd run squirrel up to 2 and add a wattgiraffe or two. on spells i'd take out everything o ut the MST, Axe of despair, and watt cine. Gravity axe is ok, but for the spot you could use axe of fools or united we stand. you shouldn't use wattjustment because it removes their abilities, and thats all that makes them worth running. they don't really have negative's so it's better to have them than not. Also you can use wattkey to let woodpecker and squirrel have their best use. Solidarity would be a good choice because they boost the attack to obscene levels considering it already attacks mostly directly. now, for the traps. judgement should go to 3 for its usefulness, and robbin' goblin should be pretty useful. as for the rest of the raps they look fine, excep that i'd up cylinder to 2 and take out just desserts.

Watt decks are interesting, as a competitive deck...well i'm not sure. But there is hope you yet. The way that Watt is played is a pseudo direct attack/less than 1500 ATK deck. By using a lot of defensive traps like Solemn Judgment, Seven Tools, Trap Stun, & Solemn Warning you will be well protected from enormous beatsticks and threatening monsters. By using Wattkey, Pot Of Duality, Solidarity, Wattcube, & Recycling Batteries you can attempt to get the upper hand. Synchroing is great in this deck as well. You can use Watt Chimera & Watt Hydra since they are thunder types and won't screw over Solidarity. If you need help on trying to figure a Watt deck out, look under the Watt wiki. It has some good ideas. Automation44 (talkcontribs) 07:47, March 8, 2011 (UTC)Automation44

I've studied the Watt wiki in and out. These are cards that I personally own. I'm currently using ALL the Watts that I own, Ive added a Wattkeeper which I got today, and I'm ordering more hopefully.

I know about the Watthopper lock, but I havent gotten an hoppers yet. I know all the good strategies and I thank you guys for replying. Also.... Pot of Duality is out of the question forever. 150.00 card isn't worth it. Lol. I think Wattjustment is good. Because I get to draw an extra card. And with cards like Magic Cylinder, Mirror Force, and Waboku, I can keep saving them. I do use Double Axe of Despairs, and I used to use a fools, but I found that it's a waste of lifepoints, because I could run 3 Despairs. I find that Gravity Axe also works well, because while its on the field, my opponents monsters can't change their battle positions. So it's like a permanent Woodpecker without having to attack. I'll take the Twin Swords out probably. Losing 500 Attack on an 800-1000 attack monster, isn't good. I've only used it once anyways.

I think a lot of the magic cards are good, and I've added Secret Pass to Treasures for my Woodpecker.

I'm going to replace the Bettas with Beryx's. Well.. I'll have 2 Beryx and 1 Betta for Synchros.

Honestly, Penguin Soldier helps me keep big crap off the field all the time. Dueling my friends, the most hated card is Wattwoodpecker and Penguin Soldier. If I can keep their hand full and their monsters off the field, it's excellent.

Besides Judgement of Thunder, what other cards could I use to Replace ALL THREE Penguins? I dont own Hopper or Dragonfly, or Giraffes.Ty.Rannus (talkcontribs) 02:57, March 9, 2011 (UTC)

It's not looking too bad at the moment. If you're strapped for cash, look about for those who are selling cards from the sets Watts are included, in bulk (ie, boxes of random cards). Watts are very under-rated right now, so I'm sure you'll find somebody dumping their supposedly useless commons somewhere.

Look into acquiring the Hoppers, because they make a Watt deck utterly devestating, and that's a perfect excuse to hunt out some. Make sure all your monsters are Watt once you've put the Hoppers in, because non-Watts don't benefit from it, which then means your opponents would have a brief window of oppertunity to deal life damage. Sadly, you can't really lock down everything, but you can get pretty darn close to it.

If you eventually get your Hoppers, look out for Spirit Barrier as well. Some players don't like it, but I think it's awesome, especially in a swarm deck like your Watts. Spirit Barrier and Hoppers put all damage on hold so long as they stay on the field.

Don't rely on Mist Wurm once your Watt deck is using Hopper either. Mist Wurm's effect might be good, but given there are lots of super-fast attack decks out now (e.g. Six Samurai), he'll be no more than a big target.

I've been trading Dragunity's Ive been getting in packs for any Watt or Thunder support cards people have at school.

I'm also in the process of ordering a large list of cards.

Watthydra, Wattchimera, Wattgiraffes, Beckoning Light, Recycling Batters, the Hoppers, One more Woodpecker, Wattkeys, and Honest, and a couple more then I can't think of off the top.

Is running 3 Dragonflies smart?

Dragunity is amazing XD I'm building a Dragon-only Dragunity deck myself =D

Dragonfly speeds up the deck massively, so I would certainly use 3. --Tazer Silverscar (talkcontribs) 22:43, March 9, 2011 (UTC)

Electromagnetic Shield would be good with a Watthopper Lockdown.

Should I run two or three Watthoppers? What are some... low level support cards? I don't want Limiter Removal because I have Wattkeeper. Ty.Rannus (talkcontribs) 02:29, March 14, 2011 (UTC)
