With the (OCG) release of PHSW and with it the coming of normal monster support, I felt like updating my "Normal Law" deck. It's nothing special, I made it just for fun but it's playable as it can give your opponent a nasty surprise when they least expect it

There are a few cards that can help, like Enemy Controller, but there isn't that much space to put it inside; ironically Rescue Rabbit proved to be the least useful card so I'm thinking of swapping it with something else but then again, there are times where it is a great help...

Anyway, what do you think? Any suggestions? Otakon7 (talkcontribs) 14:42, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

I suggest -1 Underdog and -1 Avarice, +2 White Elephant's Gift. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 14:50, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Aside from The Law of the Normal, your cards can't really do very much. You might want to add in Attack of the Cornered Rat to that end. Battlemaniac (talkcontribs) 14:51, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Try to fit in 2 or 3 Heat Waves. It's a Godsend for Vanilla Decks. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 14:55, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

Attack of the Cornered Rat... could make a decent stall + emergency removal for some monsters, I'll give a shot. -1 Underdog and -1 Avarice, +2 White Elephant's Gift might work. As for Heat Wave, it doesn't really seem all that helpful for this type of deck, seems more suited for aggro types IMO; I mean, it CAN buy me a turn but, I dunno, it strikes me as a dead draw card; hmmm, well, guess I'll try and see how it goes. Thanks for the tips. Otakon7 (talkcontribs) 15:16, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

A quick thing about Heat Wave: it DOES make it so you can't Synch that turn. However, it means there will likely be nothing in your way when you synch the next turn. I run a somewhat similar deck based around Level 3 Normal monsters and it tends to work. I will admit that there is a risk associated, though. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 15:22, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

True, I used to play a deck with lv3 vanillas with Heat Wave and Gravity Collapse, it was really fun to look at my opponents face when I played those cards :). (Also, I CAN Synchro summon with Heat Wave, but only cards like Gaia Knight). Anyway, just tested with the following: -1x POA, -1x Heart, -2x Rescue Rabbit +2x White Elephant, +2x Rat; gotta say, it works really nice.

I just remembered Common Charity! It might work better than White Elephant's Gift. I wouldn't know for sure because I haven't tried it. You don't have to Tribute to use it so maybe. Skullvarnish (talkcontribs) 15:53, July 20, 2011 (UTC)

As George Stobbart (Broken Sword) would say:"I thought about it... but decided against it". Common Charity is indeed a great card for this deck but, it's kinda slow. Sure, it depends on the situation but I'd much rather have a spell then a trap as with this deck, every turn counts + Elephant proved to have synergy with Tri-Wight Zone. But, I might try a whole different approach by playing 3x Charity and 3x Elephant, mix in a One for One and hope for the best. Ah, while writing this, I remembered a tech some Underdog Exodia folks use; Underdog + Common Charity in draw phase. Hmmm... now, if only I could add Enemy Controller to the mix... maybe I should drop the whole Law of the Normal idea; stealing your opponent's monsters seems more fun but then again... oh, Obelisk the Tormentor seems playable, maybe even Beast King Barbaros as an alternative to Law... I guess I have a lot of testing to do. Otakon7 (talkcontribs) 16:40, July 20, 2011 (UTC)
