Viper's Rebirth includes the effect of destroying the non-Tuner monster it Special summons from the Graveyard at the end of the turn that it is used. Does this mean that Stardust Dragon can negate Viper's Rebirth when it is activated? Overoncloud9 16:48, March 23, 2010 (UTC)
- "Stardust Dragon" can't do anything.
- First, "Stardust Dragon" can negate an effect only if the effect destroys a monster when it resolves. When "Viper's Rebirth" resolves, it only Special Summons a monster, so "Stardust Dragon" can't negate it at this time.
- Second, "Stardust Dragon" can negate an effect only if it starts a Chain Link. "Viper's Rebirth" does not start a Chain Link when it destroys the monster, so "Stardust Dragon" can't negate it.
