Extra Deck = 6

Basic aim is to swarm the field for a quick synchro, possibly more than one in a turn. I'm still waiting on the Rose Warriors and 1 Scrap-Iron Scarecrow though... Radiant Mirror force is my cheap substitute for Mirror Force. My extra deck is small, growing, but adequate. So does this deck have what it takes? Thanks!

This looks like a good start. What you might want to look into is The Warrior Returning Alive since Junk Syncron's effect requires that he's normal summoned. You might also want to try out Mecha Bunny, I run three of those in my Synchro Deck and those comboed with Junk Syncron works pretty well for me.

You probably know this already, but just incase, I wanna let you know that Syncron can't combo with Hero Kid since he negates the effect of the monster he brings back from the graveyard. I hope this is helpful. BobTheJesusPunk 22:07, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

The tactic you should follow is easy: Summon The Immortal Bushi. If he is destroyed, he can be special summoned from the Graveyard next turn. Then, use Junk Synchron's effect to Special Summon Vengeful Shinobi. Then, you have 3 monsters (1 Tuner and 2 non-Tuner), ready to Synchro Summon any Level 8, 6 or 5 monster you want! You should prefer, however, Warrior-Types, so as not to interfere with The Immortal Bushi, so opt for Junk Warrior, Goyo Guardian and Colossal Fighter.
Remember that this combo is ruined if you have even 1 non-Warrior monster in your Graveyard, so don't use non-Warrior monsters. Also look out for Zombie World decks.

Hope you like this combo - if you don't want to use it, let me know and I'll point out things you can do to improve your deck as it is now. --Darth Covah 01:02, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the input. The primary method to special summon Hero Kid (allowing for 1 or 2 more Hero Kids to come from the deck) is through Marauding Captain's effect (I would usually get Captain within at least 3 turns, but more often than not on the first turn due to RotA). I have an Immortal Bushi and Vengeful Shinobi and have tried them in the older deck. What I didn't like was the circumstances of their effects - for Shinobi it required a monster to attack and cause massive battle damage over its puny 400 attack (because you can only draw if it is in ATK position). Same with Immortal Bushi. So I don't want to use it.

We can improve on the current one. Maybe devise a sidedeck, including a couple of DD monsters or Imperial Iron Walls, because my deck is quite susceptible to remove from play tactics. The swarm effect of this deck, early in the game, is also really weak to Lightning Vortex. vblue 07:10, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

  • For the time being, this is what I can think of:
You run too many Tuners. It is possible you'll find yourself with a Tuner-only hand and field, and will not be able to Synchro Summon. I suggest -2 Comrade Swordsman of Landstar and +2 The Tricky - they are really good in a Synchro Deck.
I'll post again as soon as I can think of something else. As for the D.D. series you mentioned, you can splash 1 D.D. Warrior Lady and/or 1 D.D. Assailant. --Darth Covah 12:09, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

I thought about adding 2 of The Tricky but thought that it was getting too off the warrior theme, and that also the swarm tactic of my deck (Hero Kid, Marauding Captain) allows for a decent variety of monster levels to enter the field and synchro for the right one. If I take Comrade Swordsman of Landstar x2 out that means I only have a total of three level 3 tuners in my deck...and my primary goal is to be able to summon Stardust Dragon or Colossal Fighter (level 8s). So having three level 5 monsters in my deck would seem superfluous unless I remove something else instead of Landstar like an Exiled Force (but would rather not having just bought 2 of them in parallel format). However, I think I do need The Tricky. I make up for the cost by discarding Quillbolt (seeing as I can't fit/get Foolish Burials for this) or something else to be special summoned by Limit Reverse. vblue 03:17, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

ALSO in my playtests I have never run into a hand full of tuners yet, and instead once or twice the opposite. Including two Quillbolt Hedgehogs in my first hand... vblue 03:18, 25 December 2008 (UTC)

i run a deck that goes off the same theme you have here and it runs extreamly well i wont tell my exact build but ive had instances of being able to pull goyo and star dust first turn with syncs almost every turn after that so my advice play around with monsters and spells till you figure out a good combonation

Anymore help? Covah? vblue 05:45, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks heaps. I am taking up this advice. I have 1 Mei-Kou, Master of Barriers on the way and have up to 2 Twisters to side. At current it is too difficult/pricy for me to obtain Imperial Iron Wall. I will add a D.D. Warrior Lady to my sidedeck as well, to replace with an Exiled Force where necessary. Just now I have the opportunity to buy a playset of Spell Strikers which I had originally considered a long time ago for this deck, but fell back on the idea because they were too hard to get again. My deck will really enter a Swarm theme with them. I'm outing the Hero Kids for them, if I buy the playset. Only twice out of some ten duels on the weekend did I manage to pull off a Hero Kid 'barrier of defense' with Marauding Captain's effect. Once the Hero Kids go, so will 1 Marauding Captain (replace with The Tricky, or a third Junk Synchron. The Double Summon idea is good and reinforces the swarm.

My current decklist in the thread, what I used on the weekend, faced GB, Lightsworn, Cyberdark and Destiny Hero decks. I lost all of them and didn't really manage to swarm nor synchro. Almost beat the Cyberdark. Yesterday I dueled a DD deck, and won about half of the matches. More advice for my deck pending? vblue 04:58, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I like this concept, and you've built the deck quite skillfully. I'd do what's been mentioned above: remove a couple tuners. Trust me on this one. I run a warrior synchro/toolbox deck, and the only thing worse than having no tuners is having ALL tuners. Also, I'd get a Tricky or two- they REALLY help you get the levels you want on the field, and could dump Quillbolts into your graveyard, or other LV 2s for your Junk Warrior to revive.

Finally, I'd try to get some more Synchro monsters. I know that not everyone can afford the rare and powerful ones, so don't sweat it that much. The ones you have are a solid start, but more options mean a stronger and more flexible deck. You could try doing some online mail trading to get them (I'd highly suggest Yugioh ETC's trading forums if you're interested in this). If you can get your hands on them, you should put in: Black Rose Dragon, Goyo Guardian, Thought Ruler Archfiend, and/or Hyper Psychic Blaster. Those are the ones I think would be consistently useful in a variety of different game situations. Aside from that, I think you're set. Good luck with the deck, and hope you end up happy with the end product. :)

Heres a good Warrior Synchro combo. Summon Freed, The Matchless General. Use his effect to get you tune warrior, or junk synchron (or another 3 star warrior). Summon either one and synchro for Colossal Fighter. When colossal Fighter gets destroyed by battle you may special summon a warrior from the graveyard. Special summon Freed back to the field, use his effect, get a level 3 tuner, and repeat. The only thing to stop this loop is spells/ traps soo lock those down. Plus the more times you do this to more warriors enter your grave pumping Colossal Fighter.
