==Prior events==
[[Faust|Aso]] had kidnapped [[Naoki Shima]], and forcibly logged him into [[LINK VRAINS]]. He challenged The Brave Battler to a Speed Duel, but [[Yusaku Fujiki|Playmaker]] arrived to rescue The Brave Battler, reclaiming his "[[Cyberse Wizard (anime)|Cyberse Wizard]]" card data from him and accused Faust of stealing it. Faust replied that he hadn't done so, and challenged Playmaker for his [[Ignis]], activating a [[Data Gale]] for them to Speed Duel in and preventing Playmaker from logging out.

==Aftermath==
During the Duel, Playmaker obtained "Powercode Talker" using Storm Access, allowing him to use it again in future Duels. Due to his loss, Faust was purged by Varis and fell into a coma. Yusaku and [[Kal Kolter|Kolter]] were able to find Shima in the real world, but found no sign of Aso.
