'''Psychic''' (Japanese: サイキック ''Saikikku'') is a [[Type]] of [[Monster Card]]. It debuted in ''[[The Duelist Genesis]]'' in the ''[[OCG]]''/''[[TCG]]'', and in ''[[Deck Mod Pack: Hyperspeed Rush Road!!]]'' in ''[[Rush Duel]]''.

==Overview==
Psychics often resemble cyberpunk androids, cybernetically-enhanced lifeforms, or strange mutants, and often featuring elements of cyberspace, circuit board patterns, green coloring, and yellow electricity in their arts. It is worth noting that many Psychic monsters resemble what in the past were [[Machine]], [[Fiend]], or [[Spellcaster]] monsters (such as "[[Mutant Mindmaster]]", "[[Cipher Soldier]]", "[[Mind on Air]]" and especially "[[Jinzo]]"). Most Psychic monsters, especially early on, are [[EARTH]] or [[WIND]], although there are Psychic monsters for all [[Attribute]]s, except [[DIVINE]].

When the Type was first introduced, the majority of their effects and [[Spell Card]]s involved paying [[LP]] to activate various effects, while the [[Synchro Monster]]s and [[Trap Card]]s focused heavily upon restoring Life Points. ''[[Extreme Victory]]'' introduced Psychic monsters support cards that focus to manipulating [[banish]]ment, through banishing Psychic monsters to activate effects, Special Summoning banished Psychic monsters, and returning banished Psychic monsters to the hand or Graveyard. Many Psychic monsters, themes, and support released after that usually have one or both of those elements as part of their design, to different extent each.

Being a Type that debuted at the dawn of [[Synchro Summon]], Psychic monsters also support a heavy Synchro Summoning element with cards like "[[Emergency Teleport]]", "[[Mind Master]]" and "[[Overdrive Teleporter]]" enabling easier access to Synchro materials. They also contain many notable Synchro Monsters, with many early Synchro Monsters being Psychic, such as "[[Thought Ruler Archfiend]]" and "[[Magical Android]]".

In ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel]]'', Psychic monsters return to their early roots of utilizing Life Points, with the [[Psychic Musician]] and [[Shaman Bandit]] series both having play styles that rely on LP manipulation.
