An '''[[Overlay Network]]''' (オーバーレイ・ネットワーク ''Ōbārei Nettowāku'') is a network created as part of an [[Xyz Summon]] in the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|anime]] and [[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL (manga)|manga]].
All [[Xyz Monster]]s, with special exceptions like the "[[Number]]s", are [[Xyz Summon]]ed through a red, spiralling portal. The [[Xyz Material]]s then become orbs of light which orbit the [[Xyz Monster]]. When [[Detach]]ed by the [[Playerplayer]], the orbs are absorbed by the [[Xyz Monster]] in its own specific way.
When a "[[Number]]" [[monster]] is [[Xyz Summon]]ed, thoughSummoned, a space-themed portal appears into which the [[Xyz Material]]s Materials are drawn into as energy streaks. The portal explodes, and the sealed form of the [[Summon]]ed "[[Number]]" appears, before transforming itself into its true form.
